When did you change the rear on your 1199?

The rear Supercorsa SP on my 1199 base was toast, basically a slick that was starting to tear by 1700 miles. It had even wear across the tread so I was happy, but the rear was sliding everywhere, it was getting scary to ride. The bike is only ridden on the street, no track. Mostly canyons and some fast city riding. Back when I had my 1198 it was the same, by 1700 to 1800 miles the rear was gone. What kind of mileage are you guys seeing from your rear tire?

Dead at 1400 miles. So far about 600 miles on the Michelin Power One DOT Race Compound C I replaced it with and it looks like it'll outlast the Pirelli by a few miles. We'll see...but it's the only alternative to the Pirelli I could find that's the same profile as the OE bun so I figured it's worth a try.

I had 3k miles on mine, clearly I ride like an old woman compared to the rest of this crowd, I still had tread left but a nail in the tire forced a changeout it probably had another 1k miles in it. AND that's with 4 track days!! :)

I fitted a set of supercorsas to my sf and I'm not going to get near the wear out of it. Did one track day and rear is half gone already.

Have about 2000 miles on mine. Probably good for another 1000. Obviously not using the throttle properly.

I'm almost through my second set of these. They give me 3000-3500 miles.

4,000 K's on the first set, looking at 3,000 for the second set, faster riding and the odd track day I guess.

Cheers

Tire wear can be/is heavily influenced by tire pressures. Comparisons would be more useful if you guys would state what tire pressure you're running (you DO set/check your tire pressures don't you?)

At 2600 miles the middle of the tire was toast but the sides were brand new. This tire is completely wrong for the straight line riding I do. 35 psi

Right at 2800 mi. on the original set, with front and rear wearing nicely across the tread and pretty evenly front to back. A lot of that was easy miles; break-in (yes), plus to-from treks to fun spots, even a hypermiling slog once to see what I could squeeze out of it (43.2 mpg). Ran pressures as high as 34F/36R for easy rides and highway jaunts, but usually more like 32/32. Threw on some Bridgestone S20's for the Fall and Winter (190/55 rear), and another 2200 miles later (5K total) the front looks great and the rear is shot, running similar pressures as the Pirelli's.

You're gonna see a lot of variation based on riding style, weight, pressures, etc., since the Pani, like any liter-class bike will inhale tires in a hurry if you're in one. .000145 GigaWatts will do that...

I was impressed with the Supercorsas for a road tire - bit spendy maybe compared to other brands, but excellent wear for the grip they have, and they have a lot. Think some have gotten as much as 4K miles out of them in touring-type use.

Just an update guys.

The Power ONE is no longer being made, so for a set of CUPs it's now $414 shipped instead of $365 shipped from CUP front and ONE rear.

First rear 1407km (845miles), second rear 800km (480miles), third at 800km (480miles) with a little bit left probably 120miles.

First tyre had zero track days, second 2 track days, third 1 track day.

what pressures are you running? Are you doing burnouts or running really low pressures?

that seems insanely low miles to get from a tyre...

the supercorsa's rears on the DRE were toast after Day 1 at Aragon... must have lasted 320 km's... they were changed on day 2.. probably a bit early for safety reasons..
