Who is excited about the Ducati V4?

better. should paint frame to match.

Not.gonna.happen. They clearly want that bit of frame to stand out, to use its exposure to accentuate the new, non-monocoque frame, as they are more or less running away the prior design now.

Straight from the horse's mouth - https://www.ducati.com/ww/en/editorial/interview-design-panigale-v4 , and also in their website blurb on the "innovative 'front frame'" : They say, "The new ""Front Frame"", left visible for all to see, becomes an integral part of the motorcycle giving it a tight fairing, practically custom tailored."

Love it or hate it, it sticks out precisely because they wanted it to, not because they did a bad job of hiding it. Same as the painted tank extension under the seat; "look, I'm an underseat fuel tank!"

You're right. That would look spectacular. Match the exhaust, wheels, and engine casings.

Colour matched frame and swing arm in magnesium. With optional mag wheels.

much nicer. still ugly, but tolerable now. hate how the fairings connect to tank. the supersport today was horrendous.

It is what it is I suppose. I don't much like the Supersport either and whilst I would rather they had dispensed with the fairing extensions into the tank, I think the frame (especially in black) helps to draw your eye away from the area. I'll know more when I see it at the forthcoming UK show in Birmingham in a week or so.

Maybe people can buy the bike for it's performance potential and not worry so much about the cosmetics. You can't see what your riding. Just ride it. I guess I'm the only one that buys a bike and rides it. Get new tires and keep riding. Just like people complain about the S1000rr headlights. You can't see them riding so just ride the damn thing already.:confused::confused:

Played around with the base model in Photoshop trying to find a path to liking it.

I think maybe with red wheels I wouldn't kick it out of my garage (but I'm not wasting my time photoshopping that).

Have you tried with gold wheels. Not magnesium . Exposed frame magnesium as per fairing stay.

I'll be interested to hear from those who attended EICMA from here how they thought the bike looked in person. To me, the things that people don't like in the 2D internet photos are really not an issue when you see it in 3D in person. The fairing/tank thing doesn't looks so odd to me, and when you see the tank from the top where you can see it's a multi-piece unit and not a traditional fuel tank, it makes a lot more sense. You can also see how the gaps need to be there for proper air flow.

Any idea if the bikes will be shown at the Long Beach show in a couple of weeks? Would be great for us in the LA area to get a look at them in person. I’m really curious to see if perceptions hopefully change!

the last time I remember i was super excited about a motorcycle is when they released the 2008 Honda Fireblade, but now with this V4 I actually cannot wait till i see one and feel the body in person, everything about this bike is perfect for me, the sound, the V4 engine, the overall look and of course the performance, if it is as good as I expect it to be it will be truly a dream bike that came true.

One thing only i am worried about and it is the first year problem as with any other bike, but they said they tested the engine long enough to make sure everything is fine and reliable, so thats really great news.
