There's been a ton of talk about this so I'm just going to say my piece. I'll admit seeing it at the press launch was a letdown. I was a little pissed. Then I saw it in person, the little details, the different colors actually look good together and the fact that once it gets a solid exhaust without the euro 4 .... it will sound amazing. It stands out, you won't see another bike like it around and that engine will be so sick. See Chaz come back from the injury and win race one on the livery was badass and I thought it was cool as ...., which adds to it.
I still may change my mind who the .... knows, but as of right now my dealer has ordered one for me.

You can't go wrong with any decision but If I could choose now I would go for any new Panigale with Euro 3 emission restrictions.

Nice one, I'm 50/50 but only because I've already got a fairly new 1199R here that the dealer would probably not take in exchange (must stop telling them about crashes :) ). The engine is going to be the best twin ever bar the SL2 so it's not like you'll regret buying it!

Did they say when the bikes would get delivered ?

My local dealer said some will arrive in late Aug but Sept is the when the first wave comes thru the rest will be spread out over the following few months. I suspect possibly later deliveries than that depending how well it sells.

Nice bike especially with racing exhaust included instead of those hideous factory cans.
Im going to miss the twin.
But Ducati Corse has sucked as much HP as they can pretty much out the current morors. So a inline 4 or a V4 are the only options left. I'll take the v4 thank you..

To be honest, I had a look at it @ Laguna Seca.. It looks MUCH better in person than the photos etc...
I do think that it's an easy fix with the black wheels, gloss or matte.

6 thousand pounds more than a standard R for an extra handful of hp, nearly a stone extra weight,
all wrapped up in a pretty suspect paint job. Add a numbered top yoke and hope folk will jump at it.
It doesn't look like much of an advancement and will have a very short lived time in the limelight before its superceded by the new V4.

I like my R models and still own two, having owned others in the past, but this one really holds no interest for me at all.
Saying that, as big twins are my thing, the V4 will probably not open my wallet either. I may have already bought my last ever Ducati

I'm out.

My R is lighter, only down a few horses and a bit of torque, I don't need this. The R still remains the base for WSBK. The FE isn't that, it's not as special as the SL and not limited like the Anniversario

Saw my dealer today and cancelled my order. Just put the deposit over to the V4 R on pre-order

I think it will be a great bike but personally, I would wait to see final details on the V4 pipeline before I made this commitment. How many of these are they making? Can't imagine it will be that hard to get one if you wait...

I couldn't afford either bike so my opinion ain't worth much, but that's my 2cents.

I'll wait on the 2nd year V4 to work out the bugs. The 2012 1199 had some issues to work out and it was painful for many.

I reckon it would look pretty good coming down the road with those red wheels, want black then buy an S I guess, no point being the same as the others, I didn't like the red much at first but its sort of growing on me, however, if I was buying I would go for the last R and not this R.

Apparently they are numbered but "not limited" ..

Well my bikes are unique. Never seen another one lie them and I don't have a flake of paint or fancy decal on any of them. These special edition bikes are like collecting Beanie Babies already. Just gold plate the damn thing and put a big decal on the side that screames "look at me". Samoan tribal tattoos on a skinny kid from NJ. Do something unique.

Don't judge me for my tats lmfao

Let me just say it's all valid points and when the bike gets here I'll know for sure. Still a few things I'm not sure about. Yes I know Ducati is going to pull a Ferrari. Look at the 458 Specaile, he last of the NA V8. That car was an amazing machine. Just a piece of work, yes the 488 came out and was faster and everything else but the 458 Speciale is a special machine. Don't get me wrong I love my R, I've got 8,200 miles on it and enjoy every single one. To me I do like the 1299 FE, I feel like it's the Speciale. As I said though I won't decide till it's at the dealer and I can look at it. I want to see what they have for an exhaust and all that fun stuff.

I just saw it in person.Stunning.Claudio gave an inspiring description of the how's and why's of the production of this machine. It will be the fastest panigale ever produced, similar to a SL without the carbon etc. $40k
