The good news is that MM seems to be improving, MV didn't blow up the Ape and there's racing on Sunday!

What a debacle. I blame the media for all this garbage. What the news isn’t telling you is that 80% of the people showing up at hospitals are being sent home. A former shipmate of mine works at St David’s in Austin. He said the media has so many people thinking they will go from a sniffle to dead in the floor that everyone and their mother immediately heads to the hospital and urgent care when they should go home like they did last flu season.

I know they are already erecting tents and such but In about 2.5 hours I'll be at the track able to see how far the progress has come along. I've also heard from someone that works for the circuit that equipment is already being flown in from Dorna and some teams.

The thing about Texas, nobody here really cares what's happening if it doesn't directly effect them. At this juncture, I expect it to happen unless Italy says they can't hold Misano2 due to quarantine rules

What the deal on ICU beds though? I would have thought that they dont put people in them unless they are really unwell. I had the unfortunate experience of a family member dying in ICU (unrelated to covid) recently and the number of staff and equipment for one patient was extraordinary.

No Idea. My mom was in the hospital (older than dirt)3 days ago (hip). She goes to the hospital if she sneezes. Shes always telling us stories of all these people showing up with a positive Covid test worried shitless because of the TV. They have a nice little desk at the front where a nice nurse practitioner politely tells them to go home. ICU overload. You have to factor the occupied beds in the ICU that are occupied by non covid. They leave that number out. All you hear is "the ICUs are overloaded making it sound like 100% of the beds are riddled with Covid. Again with the details. They make is sound like their ICU wards are normally completely empty and now its chaos.

Geeez man, sorry to hear that. Condolences. I hope you guys can reorganize and find peace around that.
Heavy stuff.

Misano GP is already requiring the "GreenPass" to attend (which is still illegal against EU constitution and a bunch of country specific laws - an app run by the finance dept. that shows you're negative or have been vaxed giving access to entry. Curious it's not run by the health dept?). Italy has started implementing this pass going against EU guidance. My experience is there are quite a few people that talk freedoms but are little baby Hitlers inside and just want full control of everyone around them. So Italy has always got laws pushing this way and that way and normal people just go about their day not paying a lot of attention to it. The other people protest regularly.
I had a track day at Mugello - the web site said it was "cancelled due to covid." I shat a brick and called them, they said, "What, ya, no don't pay attention to that. Everyone is here, see you tomorrow," and I had my track days.

The nation of Texas seem a little bit like that. "National laws? Ok your national laws, not our national laws."

Thanks, it was rough, getting to the other side now. I'll PM you. Anyway in 3 hours we will see an awesome race at Aragon, MM looks fast and so does Pecco and Jack. Aleix is also up there... going to be great!!
