OK, sorry if this has been brought up before but does anyone make aftermarket bolts for the windscreen on the 1299? I want to get black bolts to match the fairing bolts.

Proti makes some but not black. May as well start replacing every fairing bolt while you're at it and change the color. If you do, be prepared to go broke in the process.

The proti ones look nice.

podium makes some nice titanium ones, in their dimpled line up... very sharp addition.

Have had the black ti on my bike since i bought it and no fading.

I second Podium Racing...but beware some of their "kits" won't work. I've tried to explain this to them. I wish they would just list sizes. It would make it easier to purchase what I need.

I've been swapping all the crappy hardware throughout. It's nice stuff when it works.

Proti

Most of you know me, and that I am the guy who essentially made it possible for Proti to start selling in the US back in 2012 - by making very good friends with the VP (Sherwood Wang) whom I put in touch with Randy at Bellissimoto back then. Since that time, Proti has popped up just about everywhere from Belli, so other shops, even on Amazon where one can find them. Also, one cannot argue that their presentation is absolutely phenomenal too! :D

Yes, they are alot more expensive than most other Titanium Bolts for sure. However, at that time back then, the other companies selling this type of Ti Bolts etc did not have as good quality (IMHO) as what Proti was creating. Due to the great friendship I have with Sherwood, its safe to say that my entire bike is covered by his products from Windscreen to every other place a bolt and nit can be removed and replaced on the bike. I just believe in their products more than others despite the cost - which I fortunately don't need to worry about.

At one point I do recall asking him what it would entail to make their bolts in other colors than what they normally offer, and what you see now on their site.

If anyone is interested, I can reach out to him about this again? It seems many of you guys would like the Black color since it more or less fits in anywhere. Every time we chat, by phone or email, this topic hasn't come up at all since its not something I am looking for. FYI - I also purchased some of their other items which are just as high quality as the Bolts.

HOLY CRAP !! - Just Googled the outstanding Torque Wrench I bought from Sherwood years ago and Proti is literally ALL OVER THE DAMN NET!! Back in 2012 you never saw such unreal coverage of them!! I seriously hate to say this was all due to the connection I made with him / them, and bringing them into the mainstream media for Titanium hardware - but I .... you not, they were NO WHERE to be found until I got him under contract w Bellissimoto!!! I can't even find that Torque Wrench now either - perhaps is was discontinued.

**Attached as many pics as I could find showing Proti bolts on Windscreen and all the other locations I used them.

They are nice, no doubt. I have Proti where I felt I needed forged, but other than that black was my priority. Since Proti doesn't do black, Podium was the ticket. Black ti requires specialized equipment, unlike anodized ti. Probably why they don't do it and are limited on colors in the electro range. Even that they don't cover completely. Not a fan of the Christmas tree look. I like understated.

I don't see the windscreen bolts on their website but I have sent them an email to inquire on them. I have bought a few things from bellissimoto before Gunny. Great guys but their website needs a lot of help. I just end up calling them most of the time when I need something from there. I don't mind paying a little more for quality but it still has to be what I want. (color/look/style)

Yeah, there are NOT any "Dedicated" Windscreen bolts from Proti. I just happened to find out that the smallest ones I had fit in there and I then used all of those for the Windscreen.

Best tip for doing ANY windscreen (As I have shown several friends of mine) is to use a set of those "Surgical Type" little forceps which have that ratchety type locking thing on the back near the thumb handles. I used those to hold the tiny little well nuts in place as I screw the bolts thru and catch a thread of two. Also - they are invaluable for helping retrieve them if fallen down front near or behind the Speedo Gauges / DDA area too!

You guys know what I mean right - or should I post pics of this handy tool?

Oh, and I agree with the website vs calling them directly, especially if any discount codes apply too! :)

Hello Gunny,
I know you are the proti expert but Sherwood does actually sell a windscreen kit for the Panigale. It is $18.80 USD and is on his website. I bought that kit about 18 months ago.

here is the link for anyone interested.

https://www.protiglobal.com/product...+Panigale+S&nf=2012+Superbike+1199+Panigale+S

I bought the Natural Ti finish as it fits in best with OEM. I have replaced so many bolts on my bike with Proti. Brakes, callipers, discs, foot pegs, switch blocks etc etc. The only ones I have not done are the fairings Sometimes it takes quite a while to do but for me its a form of relaxation.

BTW Gunny have sent you a couple of personal emails. Do you still have the same email address ? PM me your latest one if you want to chat.

I found their windscreen bolts they just don't have black. That's the only reason I have not went with them.

Not a Proti Expert - or I would've known there was a windscreen bolt kit out. Guess that shows how out of the game I am. Sorry.

Many Thanks!

Gunny you are still the Proti/Ti man. Your Tri is a work of art.

Appreciate the kind comments bro.
As far as your emails, forgive me - Im sure you saw the medical issues Ive been going thru and that has taken me away from everything I normally do and like.

I sure wish you lived here in US so you could be the one to take this Tricolore off my hands at a very fair price - since I know it would go to a good home where someone would love it and care for it instead of parting it out or beating the snot out of it Brad. If only I could find the right person for that somehow!
