With all this new technology...do you think?

No we're sharing a 1299 base. I'm finishing my last year of law school so time isn't exactly readily available to me. We still have the gsxr 1000 too...might sell it and get another Duc, just not sure yet what we want to do. We share bikes, split costs, etc so that's why I refer to them in this manner...although they are both in my name. He's free to ride them whenever he pleases.

Hybrid is a good idea but adds significant weight - again, unlikely to fly at the track anytime soon

F1 is hybrid mate. The tech will trickle down from F1 to cars like the P1 / LaFerrari / 918 and eventually to more affordable cars.

The concept of the hybrid supercars is great. The electric motor fills in the voids of the N/A motor thus giving seamless thrust in the low end while the N/A motor takes over in the top end. (P1 is twin turbo, I was talking about the other 2).

It may trickle down, but with a ~400 lb bike, any weight difference is going to be noticeable, and current batteries - even lithiums - add significant weight. For a street car most owners could care less about another 300 lbs

Congrats on finishing law school? What is your speciality or focus area?

what makes a Ducati?

dry clutch rattle. gone
air cooling. gone
trellis frame. no such animal on the Panigale.
L-twin. still alive and kicking, but even in MotoGP with the V-4, they've stuck with the L configuration. However, it is notable that, again in the cutting edge Panigale, it's canted 15 degrees upwards.

Ducati is capable of foregoing what would have been sacrilegious to have considered eliminating. It'll just happen gradually and subtly. Wonder what a twin electric motor in a 90 degree L configuration would look like...
