Haven't seen anyone mention this yet but woodcraft released their clutch cover for the 1199. I currently have one on my race bike, see pic. I always run their stuff since it's great quality.

Now I'm just waiting on their rearset kit which should be ready shortly.

They retail for $160 and many places carry woodcraft stuff. I have a dealer account with them, mostly for me and my fellow racers at CVMA, but pm me if you want one.

I would feel a little wierd putting anything on my bike with the word "wood" in it, maybe on my boat... :D

Thanks for posting that...I use woodcraft on all my track bikes but went with the R&G stuff since it wasn't ready yet. I prefer their products over the R&G hands down.

Yup replaces it. Simple bolt off then bolt on. If I don't get it for Xmas I'm gonna order it lol

so this is a stupid question, do you have to drain the oil before taking the cover off? All my experience is with dry clutches.

Nope, just remove the stock cover, pull the rubber gasket (carefully) from the stock cover and place it in the new gasket and mount. No need to drain the oil.

One interesting note, if (like me) you installed the Ducati CF cover you will have to dig out your old bolts as the CF supplied bolts are too long. (Or use a washer)

It took longer to open the UPS box then it did to install it.

would you consider a nice stained oak disc glued to the standard cover? surely cheaper and probably better protection. Give your Pani the Riva treatment;)

Na, you can usually get away with just keeping the bike tilted.

I used to put my race bike on its side agaist something and do it lol. A streetbike you may worry a little more about scratching the bodywork.
