My positive Christmas thread:
It was late September 2013 and after considerable deliberation, I finally decided to buy a Panigale. Called my insurance company to see what the cost would be compared to my BMW 1200S and it wasn't too bad. I spoke with Jerry at GP Bikes previously, and we had a tentative deal with my 1200S in trade. When I decided to pull the trigger, I called him and told him to put a sold sign on a shiny red 1199 base model for me. When I phoned my insurance company back with the VIN, they told me that the bike was on their blacklist. WHAAH? But I already committed to the purchase!! I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow!! I will be at work and won't have time to shop for new insurance and I live an hour away!! ''I'm sorry sir. We're terribly unable to help you.'' I called Jerry back at GP to tell him my demise but the dealership was closed for the evening. I guess Jerry checks his messages regularly because he called me 10 minutes later. Said he has an insurance broker friend Dean at Durham Insurance, that could help me out. Dean called me 10 minutes later and told me what documents he needed. I faxed them to him that night. The next day when I picked up the bike, Dean met me at the dealership with my insurance slips. Wow! Also, there was a Ducati promotion on with $1200 worth of Ducati accessories with a bike purchase. The sales staff were all over me, helping me pick out helmets, jackets etc. Jerry went over the bike with me in great detail and had his techs set the sag. What a great experience from GP and Dean!
