That's $3500 CDN. I need to get drunk one of these nights and just do a impulse stupid purchase lol. The Akra has been in the back of my mind some I bought by 1199s a couple of years ago. Now I'm even more tempted with the 1299.

Ok i would be all over this...Personally not a fan of BST/Rotobox from a visual standpoint on Ducati's. Obviously they would be immensely noticable over base wheels, how much so over the S wheels not so sure, they are LIGHT!

BST over S wheels are definitely not worth it in my opinion. The S wheels are very light.

I had the BST and Termi full system on my 1199. Now I have the BST and full Akra system on my 1299s. I would recommend the BST first. It really transform the bike at low and high speeds.

depending on the wheels you have as mentioned before if you have base wheels get wheels but forget bst evertbody that gets wheels gets bst. the rear has been the same forever. go with OZ wheels you can even get them in mag for the same price as the bst.

rsa or captiva from oz or the marchasine wire ones are hot.

if you have s wheels get the akra it sounds incredible but dont get slips get full system.

Thanks guys lots of good thoughts

No I don't race
And have base wheels
Why not get the slip on and not the full Akra I went on the website and it's not a major difference between full and slip on..

For the slight price difference, why wouldn't you? That should be the question. Full system is a steal at 2700 compared to what they usually go for....over 3500. Unless you're getting the slipons for 2000 or less, I'd get the full n call it a day.

I noticed a huge improvement with the Rotobox on my 899. Even though they are significantly lighter than the HP wheels on the RR, there doesn't appear to be as much of a difference in handling between the carbon fiber and forged wheels. Once you move most of the mass to the hub, the difference in weight just comes down to lowering the overall weight of the bike.

The logical and most noticeable improvement will come from the wheels as you will gain a lot in maneuverability, braking, and perceived performance from lowering the mass. However, the exhaust will offer some improvement in the midrange power and the sound will generate a constant immediate gratification from the growl.

The only problem with the Rotobox wheels is that they are ugly as ..... Other than that, they are fine. :D

The spokes are HUGE. Maybe that is where the "box" in the name comes from.
