Is it not still?

Nice bike, but it looks like the 70's, and that isn't meant as a slam.

Ducati's as art, the intent is still the same. Now it's in the body work, then it was all parts exposed. The 900SS are very much 70's, but they were the first production motorcycle with triple disks and in their early years a truly competitive racebike. These are really different to the current Ducati sportbikes. Long head, slow steering (and I've decreased rake about 1.5 degrees) so it takes a big tug to get it turned but for fast work on flowing pavement dead stable at speed. Hailwood did 108(?) on one of these at the Isle of Mann TT in 78. They were down on power (these are 75ish) to the Jap bikes of the time but it didn't matter because the complete package simply worked better.

You have an eye for home decor. 👍

My friend who taught me to ride (doing jumps in the woods on an old single) had a Darmah and 900SS bought at the same time (I think in the early 80s - both black and gold) - just the most gorgeous looking and sounding bikes and he was surprisingly quick on that old Darmah. Sadly no longer with us but a lovely chap and a naturally fast rider.

Thanks. The key to this is the right woman. I hate it when I walk into a house and see nothing of the husband except maybe in the garage. And I too like the Black and Gold paint scheme better.
