ZARD 1199 Panigale

Congratulations, your Panigale looks like an 1198 now! Make sure you keep all the stock parts to put back on if you sell it, this would KILL the resale value of a Panigale.

I said it on the Akra thread and I'll say it here.... Epic fail!! I have respect for the 1198 and its an amazing machine but its in the past. The 1199 is the next generation so stop trying to take the easy way out "exhaust manufacturers".

Saw it in the flesh at the Milan show. I kind of like it but when taking everything else into consideration, tail light, seat unit, big hole at the bottom where termi/std can would be, etc- I had a re-think.
The cans are so close to the race seat unit that heat transfer would definitely be a problem. The seat unit itself had no underside(hollow) to allow the cans to be such a snug fit.
Initially looking at the offside of the bike I thought the swing arm was lengthened.

They made the bike ugly, but the clutch looks nice..

I personally wouldn't put it on my bike either way, but I have yet to see any performance numbers or dyno charts posted on the system. Anyone?

From what I can see from the dyno chart in front of the bike display +23hp in the Mid Range (6500rpm) then flattens out to around and again gains +5hp near redline..

Sorry, I just can't buy 30 hp, or 20 for that matter, from just an exhaust and related tune. We thought Ducati had a very friendly Dyno, these guys dyno must give reach arounds! ;)

And a dry clutch conversion? Seriously?

I'm out. Akra hit a home run from my perspective with everything except pricing.

Ya think they think MOST Ducati owners are all about bling? The whole undertail exhaust fad was bling, few will ever drag a a side mounted pipe, and raising the weight that high on the bike is foolish. Seeing the undertail pipe along with a dry clutch, exposed and colored of course, just leads me to believe it's only about the bling.

WHO CARES!! It looks better with a 916 style exhaust

Fad LOL????

Yes Motonuts, a fad. There was never a benefit to an underseat exhaust for the commoner other than you telling everyone that you need it because you corner so low. Moving weight up high and to the rear hurts CG.A few OEMs went to it and it became so cool, guys started modding old bikes to do the same. Now all the oems have gone to short and underneath, and so has ducati. At least this step has merit besides fashion. Ducati fashion has long been what others copied.I would guess that you would also be offended that other than for endurance racers, Ducati's SSSA is nothing but Bling that adds weight to our bikes? I do believe that the 1198 I traded was one of the sexiest bikes ever built ( the corse probably the sexiest) and the SSSA,the undertail exhaust and the trellis frame being big contributors to that. My new 1199 is a stunning machine but in my opinion, not the eye candy that my 1198 was, or your 916/996/998 is. The performance advances were more important to me than the looks.
BTW, Mononut, asks someone with a 1X98 and DoubleDogMoto low mount exhaust who RACES about how much better the bike turns in and holds the turn. The effect of losing weight high in the tail is fairly significant.
