@KarlKani you had trouble installing the IMA system if I'm not mistaken? A forum member with a V4R bought the IMA adjustable clipons, adjustable triple trees and the full thumb brake system from me. I can't remember his forum name. But I can look it up if you want to get in touch with him. He and his mechanic were having a tough time installing the thumb brake. We spoke on the phone and he told me that he googled how to install the IMA thumb brake. I think he said when he googled it a link popped up from that was from this forum regarding the thumb brake. And you were the one who wrote about it. I dont remember whether he said he contacted you through a PM or not. But he did say you wound up not mounting it. Eventually he and his mechanic figured out how to mount it. But had to order a custom brake line. He told me that he ordered a custom Galfer brake line. I didnt ask how much he paid but Im sure it wasnt cheap. Let me know if you want his forum name, unless you know who it is. If you decide to contact him and have him give you information how he installed it. Since you are in NYC, call this company on long island called Moreland Hose. They are located in Hempstead and Oakdale. They specialize in every type of hosing lines, brake lines, hydraulic lines, fittings, sizes, and material you can think of. Ive had them make me a few custom brake lines for Kawasaki ZX10's when these guys ordered Attack rear sets from me. And some other custom brake lines and cable clutch lines. Right now I removed my oem 11/16th front brake master cylinder from my Harley Dyna and replaced it with the Brembo 19RCS Corsa Corta. The Magnum Shielding black braided brake line I have has a 90 degree banjo. I need a 60 degree banjo for the Brembo. So tomorrow I'm going to head over to Moreland and see if they can swap the banjos for me without shortening my brake line too much. I figured let me give it a try. Worst case I order a new brake line from Mangum Shielding. Moreland makes motorcycle brake, clutch, idle, and throttle lines more as a small bonus for customers that have bikes. But their motorcycle lines are the same quality as their other products. If you go on their website you will understand what they specialize in and see why their quality is the same from motorcycle lines to their other main stuff.

I did nato have an issue installing IMA triples, in regard to this thumb brake I just decided to not even bother with an installation because I didnt feel up to having it on my bike - so its for sale.

Got it. Understood. Just out of curiosity. What is the difference between the IMA thumb brake set up and the Brembo thumb brake setup? Build quality, installation difference and use? I know the Brembo costs more. But in your opinion is it worth it? Im not installing either of them. I just wanted to know the differences and your opinion if you have any info on the Brembo set up.

I would imagine the Brembo setup is the best, I am honestly not trying to use anything other then Brembo. But the Brembo thumb brake is just under $2k and that doesn’t not include the new rearset master you would also have to get. So in the grand scheme of amateurs trying to be fast ish on track... it’s not worth it, considering where that money could go to make your bike better.

I had a guy from Long Island have me price out the Brembo CNC rear master cylinder that retails for $949 and the PS13 Brembo thumb brake that retails for $1935. I gave him a really good price. He asked me 3 times if the price I quoted him was the actual price. But he backed out after I told him he needed some other parts and also after getting a few quotes on the install. Dude was bummed out because he was so excited about buying a thumb brake. Turns out he wanted it because his friends didnt have it and told him that having a thumb brake was the best thing he could do. After he said that I told him exactly what you wrote. He only tracked his bike 4 times. I told him he could spend the same amount or less if he wanted on performance parts. And spending the same as the thumb brake or even less would be more beneficial than the thumb brake. So we went the other way on other parts.

The IMA set-up is top-notch; the gear is used in superbike and Moto2 if l’m not mistaken.
The Brembo system is WAY OVERPRICED and no better.
Go for the dual master cylinder set-up. On my 1199S, I had to use the bar-mount, which works perfectly; I could not get the fork-mount to position/fit properly on the tapered fork tube. I also run the IMA clip-in’s and triple tree.
Steel brake line are cheap and easy to install. Just estimate the length required by running a cord through the planned routing to determine length.
Last, but very important, ensure there is some play in (1-to-2 mm gap) between the piston in the rear MC and the bar that applies pressure to the piston. I had to grind off a few mm from the OEM rod.
