€80,000 plus VAT, but it comes with some very nice stuff included. Not sure what the wet weight without fuel would be.

Lovely, although forged wheels instead of carbon would be nice.

They have a cheaper version that’s track only too, also RSV4 based. Two versions, first is 26,900 EUR second is 33,900 EUR.

The SL is no where close to what Aprillia is doing with factory built track bikes. I’m not sure how you got there.

No, I was directly saying the two products are not comparable.

I think they have more in common than not, the SL has a higher power to weight ratio, less developed aero, most likely similar or better engineered components in many areas. Sure its not a dedicated track bike but that speaks more about the Ducati's marketing and possibly the Euro 5/6 restrictions.

One is a halo product designed to create excitement around and draw people to the brand.

The other is a non-street legal track bike.

Would be cool if Ducati would do this or just open the Corse catalog to the public like pretty much every other manufacturer does.

This rsv4 is a nice bike, but I would expect a bit higher spec than FKR forks, MS calipers, and production level ecu/harness for 80k euros. The hp4 race was similar money and was considerably higher spec (FGR forks, built motor, near wsbk electronics).

It’s a crap engine? I thought it was supposed to have very good drive out of turns.

Obviously the platform hasn’t been developed much for some years. I’ve no idea if the electronics are good or not. I doubt they are up to Ducati’s level but the R1 does seem to be very popular at track days.

It is also very popular at track days here too. I’ve certainly enjoyed my time on them and did not know the engines were crap. Considering picking up an R1 or Ape as a second track bike.
