That all sounds accurate. Like I said if you are sourcing new parts then you may want to have the DDA sync the BBS and the ECU for VIN unless you don't care about that otherwise, you are good to go. On the key thing, the all ignitions that I have used had ECUs with them so I don't have any experience swapping ECUs and ignition modules where the ECU or ignition module is new. If you have an ECU and a matched ignition module,you can swap the dash and BBS and ABS (all CAN linked devices) without issue as long as the parts are compatible. I believe the ignition module is tied to the ECU via programming not 100% on this. I also know that both the ECU and the BBS contain VIN info and that Ducati via I believe the DDS platform can program a VIN into either and sync both.
