Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd say hello and let everyone know that my bike is being worked on by a friend of mine many people know as Tuneboy (Wayne).
Wayne is in the final stages of developing cruise control, phone apps (which he can explain) as well as proper tuning ability.

I know this is my first post, and many may be asking whats in it for me. Well as my bike is the donor bike and has been sitting in his workshop for the last couple of weeks on the dyno in pieces, I get all of these goodies first (and more importantly for free :D )

Yes, Wayne is a friend of mine and I unashamedly promote Tuneboy for those who are wondering.

I'll keep everyone up to date as things progress. By the way, I really like this forum and I promise not to post any "heat issues" threads....

Yeah, I think it'll be nice on the wrists with those highway rides. He has already made it for the Diavel and the multi. I'm keen to see what he can do with the low speed mapping as he transformed my KTM and 999.

Don't quote me as this is talk over a few beers, but I think he's putting together a few options. One is using the start switch to engage and set, another is using a switch block that fits on the left side in that gap and I cant remember the other one. To disengage you can pull in the clutch or use the brakes.

Cruise, schmooze; I want the iPhone app he was messing with. I want to fire up and rev my Pani remotely outside Starbucks by swiping my phone. Just when everyone's wondering what the hell is going on, I'll finish off my Espresso Macchiato, saunter over to my waiting steed and zoom away.

Cruise control... Don't you people have any priorities? ;)

I was playing with that yesterday on my bike, lots of fun. I didn't want to mention it out of fear from being called names...

Beware of tuneboy products

It is fair that you promote of your friends at Tuneboy. It is also fair that I post my opinion on Tuneboy products, not based on friendship but on actual experience as a client.

Regarding Tuneboy's customer service, this is how much Mr Wayne cares for his clients:

-I used to own a Speed Triple; I bought the Tuneboy cable when I installed an aftermarket pipe to upload/modify maps. I had a few technical questions as I am not much of a mechanics expert. Before the purchase, I was able to get a few answers; after the cable was delivered (approx $500), I WAS NEVER ABLE THE GET HELP/ADVICE FROM MR WAYNE.

On top of this, you were supposed to get instructions in his website, together with the Tuneboy and TuneEdit programs. To make a long story short, the website was a total mess, completely disorganized, instructions were obsolete, the programs were absolute chaos, full of bugs, portions of them not working, would freeze often (once I had to tow my bike to the shop to get the ECU reset) new software versions never arriving. What can I say, the whole thing was so unprofessional, total .....

Only after months trying to get feedback, his wife/girlfriend/secretary or whatever was kind enough to email me back, promising me that she would try to get him to answer. I seem to remember that he finally sent me a 1 line email with some sort of minimalistic answer.

So there you have it. Am I writing this post the way I am writing it because I am mad at Tuneboy? you bet I am, but just keep in mind that all what I am saying is true.

May be now he is more professional, it is up to you if you want to put your precious Pani in the hands of Mr Wayne (and paying $$$$ for it!), but good luck if you happen to have a problem (and I bet you will), you will never hear back from him again.

btw, I am just a regular guy, I have nothing to gain form writing this, only the satisfaction of letting people know how this dude functions. In that regard, it is great that you showed up in this forum and gave me the opportunity to do so

That would be AWESOME! I would love to see the look on peoples faces when the bike revs itself.

Someday we may have bikes that are triggered by emotional response and seek their masters... When the master is at work on a sunny day thinking about riding the bike, the bike drives itself from home and sits in the hallway outside his office... waiting for its' adventure

When its ready we can catch up if you like, I'm keen to meet another 1199 owner to compare notes.

If you're in Sydney,
I can be found at Stanwell Tops most Sunday mornings.

I'll be the fat dude with the coffee and cigarette wearing a Teknic leather jacket.

A mate of mine lives down south who I ride a fair bit with, I'll keep an eye out for you. Tecknic jacket, 1199, wont be many of those around!

Wayne set up the cruise control on my bike recently but really didn't have a chance to test it until yesterday. I've posted on this previously but didn't really get the benefits until yesterday.

We have a number of stretches of freeway that are under construction at the moment and have artificially low speed limits, policed fairly aggressively by speed cameras and motorcycle cops. The cruise control comes into its own in these areas, reducing the temptation to just 'gas it' and take off just it is a real bonus.

You start the bike then hold the starter button again for 5 secs, the engine blips so you know it's set. Then when you're riding you push the starter button again and it will set cruise at the speed you were at. You use the left hand up/down function buttons to increase speed by 1kmh increments. touch the brakes and it switches off.

The system is very easy to use and works exactly like a car system except for a resume function (Wayne if you're reading this that would be a good addition).

Now I've got a slightly loud exhaust I'm glad to have another tool to keep me from the attention of the Law!

I gather a map is being created in the next week for the Termi slip ons. A few of us in the UK are interested in the Tuneboy software, any chance we could get a comparison between the Ducati Upmap and the Tuneboy map? Look forward to seeing the iPhone app and features available.
