There is enough clearance, but to be safe switch to the pillion seat.
Also, use a little bit of blue loctite on the ends to keep the bolts happy - there is alot of vibration going on there.

I have a 31L bag on there and I can never fill it. Plenty of room if you can stop to wash your clothes from time to time

Worth every penny, and I saw many guys who now just swear by these after crashing on highways at illegal speeds with their. It's the most secure backpack I know of for motorcycles.

When you sit up at stop lights, etc, the bottom of the pack rubs on the tail of the bike, causing scratches. I only have this issue on the 1199, because of how steeply the tail section rises. Also, the pack restricts air circulation, which is seriously uncomfortable upwards of 80 degrees F.

I use a Kriega, same problem but easily solved. Fit the pillion seat when you've got a back pack on. Thats what I do
