Hello fellow 1199'ers! (we are the 1199%! haha....jokes....)
Anyway, I recently picked up my 1199 S with good ol' ABS this past Saturday and got to ride it a little bit. It's a whole lot of fun for sure!
The downside is, I developed a stress fracture in my foot about 4.5 weeks ago (long distance runner), so I've been on crutches and a knee scooter since then. The funny thing is, I can actually ride the bike, but I can't get off it unless I have my crutches or scooter to grab onto lol. Fortunately I only have 1.5 weeks left until I can walk again, and I'll be able to fully enjoy riding! Then maybe I'll be able to get some pics up as well.
That aside, a little background: My first bike was a '09 Triumph Daytona 675 (bought in July of '09), which I laid down this past Spring (twice, in the same week) riding down in the North Carolina area. It's a long story, but it's a combination of me pushing it around turns, and having new/different tires than I was used to. Anyhoo, insurance decided to "total" my perfectly working Daytona (all cosmetic damage) and I bought back the salvaged title, so it's being transformed into a track bike. I love that bike to death, it's absolutely incredible and I will fight anyone to the death who says it's not the best 600 out there
That being said, I'm looking forward to the dawn of a new street bike era (for me anyway) on the 1199, and looking forward to being part of this forum and sharing/taking in lots of knowledge and experience!
Ciao!
