Based on the user manual it says the speedo display will be 5% more than what the actual speed is.

The French video is a feature made on TV. Crappy feature, with no interesting information at all.
He didn't even use a GPS to have a better information about the top speed he got to...

That lane splitting always freaked me out when I would travel to Cali for work. Sitting in traffic and a guy on a bike comes wizzing by. Seems a bit sketchy to me from a rider safety perspective. It's not legal here in Texas.

at least we know there will soon be used spares on the market - if there's anything left.

I got used to lane splitting when I used to take my bikes to Cal (I'm from N.Nev). But I haven't been there awhile. but let me tell ya, these guys down in S.America where I am at the moment take lane splitting to the next level in terms of risk, considering it's impossible to predict what the car drivers are gonna do. Without warning or logic, car drivers will do things like make left turns from far right lanes right in front of you, stop in the middle of the road for no apparent reason, constantly drive with their hazards on, honk for the stupidest reasons, or no reason at all, wait til the last possible to get into the lane they need to be in, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. It's pandemonium down here driving. Strangely, you do see the odd 911 Turbo, Bentley, R8, or Ferrari. And the occasional sport bike. Even rarer is the odd Multistrada or Monster. The roads are in horrible condition too. :)
