I don't find the "R" seat uncomfortable, compared to the 100 gr seat on my bicycle it is pure bliss. The "R" seat will do fine for 2-3 hrs saddle time which is about all I want in one go.
DP race seat has wider ridge up front, but it compresses so despite being higher in appearance it actually only raises you depending on your weight .5 to 1 inch up as I just found out after mounting mine. The wider ridge actually takes the pressure off your genitals, great!!!!!!!!! And the material is much grippier than R seat. Don't know about the comment on the R seat being that grippy when in fact it is only slightly gripper than the regular stock seat which shares the same foam and base- so to call the stock seat a crap seat means that you are calling the R seat a golden turd seat. I've got nothing against the stock seat if I want to crush my nuts and lazily slide around and use my knees more. I just like the DP race seat for its comfort and it looks cooler- more built up with chiseled lines. JMO
+1..
Those of us who cycle have reasonably good saddle fitness (or buns of steal) don't mind the stock seat. This the main reason I want an R seat.
I would imagine the rest probably prefer a little cush for their tush.
exactly. Six hours on a cervelo makes it easy to put in long hours on the panigale. And the clip ons are just a little more comfortable than tt bars.
If I had an extra 1" of inseam, I probably would have kept my DP Race seat. Having said that for the brief moment I had the DP Race seat on my bike, I didn't feel "as one" with the bike, like I do with the stock seat.

Great point...acquiring the buns of steel is a must riding sports bikes. Once you have them, even sitting on a rock feels comfortable
