Well - wasnt my fault but here is the story- Running my second day in expert class - was on turn 15 right on Apex `90MPH area. nothing but the grass to the right of me. I see a white bike - im down slidding look up, dude looks behind him keeps riding.

The dent in the tank is from my arm impacting the tank when he hit me, fell back when i went down, helmet hit dragged my back thighs and shoulders. Minor bruised back and blood vessel on my hip. No injuries to speak of. My guardian angles where there for sure.

The guy never went to find me in the paddock - i came and found him. He was more afraid of getting his ... kicked than to come see how bad i was hurt. He didn't speak English. I had a translator explain how disappointed in his inability to act like a human. I teetered on beating the ever living life out of the guy all day, or hammering his truck, bikes and body to my liking. As an adult i let it be, but let him know what a pos he was for not. If i even startle someone i find them and apologize , never mind T-bone them at such high speeds.

A guy and i were going back and forth saw it all, he went around him on the outside then dove down and tried to beat me to the apex, there was no room and instead of staying on the grass and crashing himself he decided to save himself and wreck me. Karma will get him.

As far as the bike - tank - hopefully can be pulled back to shape that is ridable - front fairing stay, minor pieces on the rear sets, new throttle tube and set - clip on - bar ends- front fairing stay - front fort outer is dented - helmet is gone - leathers need repairs - boots need repairs - gloves need repairs.

....! Glad you're ok, and a very depressing story. I can't even imagine your frustration level.

Saying sorry goes LONG ways. What an ........

Sorry this happened to you. Hoping for a fast recovery of bike and yourself.

Glad you got away lucky.

I’d understand this in a race, but a friggin trackday??? Dang

When I was racing back in the day (early 80s) I got run into on the warmup lap! I was fortunate that we were not on the gas at all, trundling along about 45 mph. I got knocked of the track and down a short hill, but fortunately did not go down.

Definitely a pisser, sorry to see what happened to you. It’s easy to say “that’s racing”. But an apology was definitely in order.

Glad you came away ok.
I just don't get those type of people at a trackday.
Takes a lot of self restraint not to beat on them.
Unfortunately if you did, you'd be the one not able to go back to the track.

Not to be morbid, but you got some good crash data there. I see you have front axle sliders and case savers....anything else that helped stave off any damage?

The rear sets and the body deff helpwd take the hit. The OEM rear tail smashed to pieces. Dont put frame sluders on race bikes. They tend to cartwheel once they reach the grass

No!!! Glad you're okay! What a herb trying to win a trackday and ruining someone else's day. And at one of the best tracks to ride at too. If you need a hand with anything just reach out I love crashed panis! lol

Might be a good time to go for one of those fiberglass gas tank cover/extender if you liked how it looked. Thats what i did instead of fixing the dent in my tank. EDIT: Oh nvm i think that might need to be fixed looking at the pics again!

Getting it fixed, but thinking of a cover to boot. Have a link?

Glad your OK, I crashed mine at the track a couple of weeks ago and had no-one to blame but myself. Well it wasn't actually my fault the conditions were bad and I'm not used to it yet and I wasn't on familiar rubber and.......... :)

I dont agree. I now count 4 lowsides on left side,my Trex slider has done a great job as usual. This time fairings was intact thanks to it.

Interesting - good to know

I have low sided now twice - once at 45-50 this time 90+
With the rear sets, bar ends axle sliders and clutch cover i can confidently say the sliders are not necessary.

In your case when you have low sided did the bike get into grass?
If so how far did it slide into grass. My bike slide 150+ yards and about 100 feet of that in grass.

I question the additional advantages that the sliders will provide.

Im on the fence 2 out of 3 times the slider saved most of one of my bikes. The other time it flipped it. I think it really depends on the crash and the angle of the bike. As of now im keeping them on as well.

I think its important to note, your slider is only as good as the hardware you use to mount it. If the mounting bolt bends, your slider will probably bend and cause a flip rather than just grind away like it should.

No never any grass. What crap tracks are you riding? ;) If we take my bike i will save clutch cover, swingarm & all fairing parts and take off load on the usual spots like bar end & rear set in this now so common "Zelnik lowside practise" for me. Of course all crashes is different but i clearly see the pattern, that slider takes the major impact & dragging. Clearly shown on the slider itself. I will see if i can upload some images later.
