1299 exhaust cored

Nope... The adapter won't be cheap plus I read that the 1299 cans are superior to the 1199's

I have a way to do it in the 1299s it's just not pretty for the cats.
If you skip that, I can still get you better breathing and louder / deeper cans

Cored and opened up, welded back together, ground and VHT coated:

Wild looking bit of kit Ander01, looks awesome.

I am happy to hear that you are happy with what you hear :D

Btw, Ander01 opted to keep the cats and just get the loudified option. That kept the canister shells untouched...

I am still in search of a better welder who doesn't charge hundreds for this...

For now on my bike, well I could care less, because after 2 turns I'm gone anyway. And bike nights are not my terrain. And to be honest, when mounted you have to search for it.

So, for now the route that Anders01 went is probably the cleanest.

Unless you want to shell out the bigger $$$ with the name brands

They are- I will get a better vid in the next days.

These are : dBkiller killed, cats killed and some internal mod :D

i found a new welder, he specializes in thin sheet metal, and does a lot of bike related stuff.

he will receive 2 cans this week and i will post up the result.

cost are expected to not go up drastically.
but he's an hour away, so that will factor in with some shipping costs and time .

Also, cuts are currently being tried via wire edm... Unfortunately, the toolshop is full right now...

That will allow for clean cuts on the R/SL titanium cans though:D

Still waiting on the nicer weld results.

When those are in, I will post it
Up.

Guess 2 more weeks.

Day job is a roll right now...

Let me know if he doesn't work out (I hope it does). I'm good friends with a gentleman who has hand crafted almost 300 race pipes for another vtwin sport bike company and was even approached by the company to build their factory system. He might be willing to help. He's quite an accomplished welder.

here's a list"

- bigger diameters overall, except the outlet
- they really simplified the outer shell
- the cats are fixed differently now, even shittier to get out
- general flow structure is the same
- the cans are made by remus
- there is no way to open them in a hidden spot, so at least one cross-weld will go around the outer visible part
- they appear to be lighter (let me put them on a scale for comparo tonight)

since my 1199 is half naked right now anyway, i will fit the 1299 headers and pipe and get to a dyno, as soon as i find the time (biggest problem)

Did the header pipes fit and are they bigger? Did you get a chance to get the bike on the dyno?

1299 pipes fit 1199.

Not been on the Dyno yet
