My 1299S has now 4800 Km
I drove a 3200km long distance trip from south Germany to Austria Italy France and back
Very seldom i go over 6000rpm - my normal range is 2500 to 4500

The consuption is at 0,11l/1000Km

Seldom go over 6,000 rpm ... you don't know what you are missing out on! Go on, try it :D

My 1299s - had to top up with the recommended Shell oil a few times before its first service at 600miles and again a bit after. Got through 1/2 a bottle now and have 900 miles on the odo.

I suspect other litre sports bikes are similar.

Dealer did break in service @ 800 mi. I recall them filling pretty close to the top mark in the site glass, but cannot be certain.

My bike now has 1600 miles,I just put 150ml to get it to the top of the site glass. Ill keep track to see if this is a trend.

The consuption is at 0,11l/1000Km

Pretty much exactly what my estimated consumption was? Per this thread: http://ducati1299.com/ducati-1199/3836-oil-consumption.html
anything less than 1l/1000m is acceptable so apparently no big deal given that were ~@ 1/10th that.

pani-r has been dripping oil out of the lower fairing since last dealer oil change - evidently it was overfilled - it was drained down to lower line.....after 1 ride the level was in middle of the sight glass...and dripping put again....i guess it needs the level needs to go down more...and it seems like it will be happening on its own as as soon as i park t on the side stand out it comes -- because it is overfilled it is getting blown out the crankcase breather into the air box, then while on side stand finds the drain hole :(

I'd take it back to the dealer and get the oil out of the airbox and if they are the ones who overfilled it I don't think you should have to pay a dime.

the past ducati models were notorious for getting overfilled. most dealers recommended only filling them half way between the hash marks.
as far as I can tell this panigale series motor can be filled to the top hash mark with no problems . also the difference in volume between low and full is a lot less than before which seems to require more frequent inspections . I check my bike before every ride and try to keep it to the top .
