Have to say the paint scheme is hideous!! Utterly disappointed, but as others have said on the UK forum, I'd ditch the stock plastics anyway and paint the replacement bodywork in a scheme less resembling that drawn by an 8 year old with crayons.

That has got to be one heavy ass exhaust!!

The 1299FE weighs in at 419 lbs wet which is only 1lb lighter than the S. The ''R" weighs in at 406 Lbs. All things equal the 1299 FE engine should only weigh in a few lbs more than the "R". So I'm thinking all that extra weight must be in the exhaust

I thought the bike info was supposed to be announced today by Ducati. Other than the pics I don't see any additional info.

There is a press launch event this evening, and then the public unveiling with Claudio Domenicali is at Noon pacific time at Laguna Seca tomorrow.

At this point it comes down to price..... of it's 40 or more I'm out. I'm going to have to replace those wheels asap anyway

Ya its the worst for sure. I really don't know how this ugly thing was approved. Someone need to be fired. Hideous color wheels and that green on the plastics is so bad!!!!!! But hey if you have the money slap on some carbon fiber fairings and OZ wheels and your good to go. Its a shame that you would have to do that to make it a good looking bike..

Like others have said, I like the tricolore and anniversario more but this is cool, too. That said, how in the world did they not do gold wheels on this? It's made for it.

I couldn't agree more. I was sure it would have gold wheels like the 1098 tricolore. Such a bummer. Saw these pics two hours before the new owner came to pick up my R that i just sold.

I can live with the green but the red wheels have to go. Luckily that's a pretty easy fix. I'm either going to get this and swap the wheels or go for an MV Agusta F4RC. Prettiest bike i've seen.

Or pony up for a 1299 Superleggera! :D

I'm sure it will grow on me, but Ducati seriously what were you thinking??

PLEASE swap out those wheels before releasing the bike to the public...

I had 2 F4s: a 2001 and a 2009 F1000. Great bikes and the RC is very good looking. I like the direction that Giovanni is going with MV, too. No bad choice in either of those two bikes you mentioned. You would have to put gold wheels if you do the FE though :) .

Sherpa,
I posted this on another thread, but I saw this yesterday at my local dealer. Was being prepped for display this weekend at Laguna Seca. It was achingly gorgeous in the flesh. The single under seat exhaust was in a wooden crate but I think the bike looks even better with that installed if that's possible.

Very tempting alternative to the FE that I'm seriously considering.

Ducati will always be my favorite brand, but MV is coming out with some great looking bikes. I love my Dragster RC and it's itching for a stablemate! :D

Get this one. But I don't know why it has passenger pegs?

Does anyone know if they will be numbered like the SL is?

They will probably be numbered but not like the SL. They want to sell as many as they can. As such, it will have a number but it won't be out of a pre set production number like the SL.
