1299SL Akra "race" exhaust ????????

How many people do you know that have had their car or motorcycle impounded for having a race exhaust installed?

Be real dude. Dealers know what they are doing and they don't care. Nobody cares what exhaust you have on your bike. "Off road use only" warnings are for manufacture liability protection. CA is probably the only state in the US that might present unique challenges.

Some "illegal" actions are more illegal than others. If this is a legitimate concern for anyone that can afford this bike, their head is in the wrong place.

+1 - Absolutely hits nail on head !!

I can always count on "BROsiah to turn just about anything into a tool fest. Well done. No get back to that pizza oven.

wasn't someone here working at a pizza parlor to pay off their 1299SL?

VAST. Good eye and close. It was actually "Bro". He had a plan but its a bit iffy at the moment. He figured that he already lived in Ohio where you can basically buy a county with a decent job and that if the Dem's got "The House" that the $15.00 minimum wage deal might afford him a shot at a bike. Well that does not look positive at the moment and it looks like with the current pizza gig that unless Ducati carries the 99 series into 2035, that its just not going to happen. Posting here is a psychological ploy to console his reality that bike that he does have says 1/16 on the side instead of 1299.

California passed a bill this year to enforce 2013 and newer motorcycles to have EPA approved exhausts on the bike.
Also the EPA and not sure if CARB had a hand in it fined Harley something like 15 million dollars for selling exhausts and fuel tuners meant for race use only. Seems baggers aren't considered race bikes. This might just be the start.

I was wanting to bring one of my bikes down to SoCal next August and take a ride up my old haunting grounds, Angeles Crest, Newcombs Ranch, but really don't feel like being hassled.

lets keep the bike forum to bikes.

thanks

Bottom line most other aftermarket exhausts, end cans, etc. for all brands of bike come with 'For Race Use Only' and plenty of Akras on forum members bikes here.......

Has it stopped anyone? Nope........... if it did there just wouldn't be that much of a market for it
