2010 1198 Corse SE track bike help

Hi guys this is my first post, how are you all.
I'm turning my 1198 into a full track bike as I had
a car come around a blind corner and nearly took
my head off, so enough is enough. No more road
riding. One way all the way
Just want some advice and tips on things that I should be
doing to make it a full blown track bike.
Ordering my race glass, slicks, tyre warmers this week
and already got good rear sets for it. Sliders to
come soon as well.
Also when I take the side stand off will the bike still
start when the kill switch is disengaged or is there
something else I have to do?
So please guys anything else would be greatly
appreciated. Cheers and thanks in advance.

Here's mine. It's an 848 Evo but the same thing as what you're trying to accomplish. It's essentially a 1098RS but with an 848 Evo motor.

It was originally a street bike and then raced to a few championship wins by Chris Boy of Motocorse Performance so here is a list of what was done. It might help. I am sure that I can't remember everything but here goes:

Frame: all extra tabs removed and some extra work was done to convert to RS specs (Pierobon can do this).

Engine: Lat deep sump motor that's all rebuilt with Ti rods and such. Included a Microtec ECU and 1198 throttle bodies.

Transmission: 1098RS Corse transmission with some extra work to run it with wet clutch.

Swingarm: modified for the RS specs (shortened chain, etc.) but go with the NCR triples.

Suspension: 1098R suspension with Ktech internals. Corse ride height adjust and rear link. Plus NCR triples.

Plus: Corse throttle, side steering damper, Pierobon front subframe, 1098RS rear subframe, STM clutch, brake ducts, 1198 Corse tank, 1098RS tail and bodywork, superpole seat, etc.

Here's a pic of me on it from a track day a couple of weeks ago.

Thnx Sherpa23, man that has had some work done to it. Not sure if I can modify mine
that much lol. I appreciate your time and I have noted all the things you have mentioned as there are some very good mods for me to look into. Thanks again.

for 1198 start with adjustable offset triples. then do rear shock and linear link. make sure your stock components like forks, brakes, drivetrain are all well maintained. they are great components from factory. the downfall of these bikes is poor geometry. get that setup and you will love the bike. lots of info about setup of these bikes on some other ducati forums.

Good luck with the build, Ducatis are a great platform to go all out. Do it right the first time never need to do it again and enjoy the bike forever!! Keep us updated

My 959 build may be of some use for parts that can cross over, find under ny profile probably. Never played with the evos in the shop only under me!

Do you have more pictures?! Great build and i love the blue
