Their idea is, it's new, so it's date of birth is kinda the day the buyer pulls off hard with it :D

that new dealer in detroit wont discount their bike that much because their are new, they know there is not other dealer in the area and they put a lot money in to building the dealer. somebody need to pay for that cute showroom:D

ya closest one beside this one is 200 miles away lol i guess these guys can do some monopoly here...

I think you are(were) on the same page as me. The local dealership here wouldn't discount the bike at all so I bought mine from Mellimoto Ducati in FL. Even with the shipping included I ended up saving about $1500. I can't believe that the local dealer wouldn't budge on freight, prep and doc fee !! Call up Sebastin and he will give you a killer deal.

It is a sickness I tell you... how we justify going up the ladder.. here is the reasoning...

899... great street bike. Has everything that I need.

But... I want the LEDs.. want the warranty... risk of cancel warranty if I mess up with the bike internals.. and I want the magnesium covers because I want easy access to the clutch... clutch, I want slipper clutch... you know...

1199S - for not much more I can get the 1199S and it has so many things that I want... all cover under warranty... better suspension, better brakes, wheels, display, slipper clutch, etc... yeah, yeah that is the one that I should go for... but wait...

1199R - if I can do the S, I can certainly spring for the R... Titanium... ohhhh sexy... carbon fiber bodywork..ahhhhhh Titanium connecting rods. Carbon fibre components: swingarm guard, heel guards, cover for conveyors, switch gear cover, cover for rear shock absorber, rear and front mudguard, cover for clutch case. oohhh aahhhh Termignoni exhaust, the aerodynamic screen and the rear-view mirror taps in aluminium...

Sickness indeed...  :D

hahahaah yea lol ikr?!!! you wrote exactly what i went through lolol hehe

Lol why stop there. .. The superleggara has even better bits

:D because going from 30 to 65k is one heck of a jump to justify!!!!!

There is the possibility to negotiate a 1199R so that it is closer to 1199S money (of course you could do the same with the S but that would not help with justifying the R :p ).

The gap from R to Superleggera is jut too much (at least for me...)
