2015 Ducati 1299 Panigale Leaked by Ducati Dealership

It was accidental and I believe there was some considerable fallout.

From what I was told that dealer personally called every major Ducati dealership and apologized.

Exactly what Sebastian told me... dealer in question sent letters apologizing to the other dealers.

I would be upset if I just purchased an 1199 lol.....cant even lie

I'm cool with it. I still spend all my time in Sport mode - an extra 100ccs is wasted on me. Hell, so is the current HP. Track days here in WA are like Down's Syndrome group rides at triple digit speeds, so I don't see myself using the full potential of this bike or the next iteration. Just having fun!

Did Ducati ever call this a leak? The only people calling this a leak are the press, so I am sure this was purposeful. It will be at the show in Milan, so we will soon know the details. Last time this happened, I ordered my 1199, soooo....

Same here. Back in Nov 2011 when the display bike came to the Sydney Motorcycle show I went and looked at it and put a deposit down without even being able to sit on it. I ended up with one of the first 10 in Australia in May 2012.

I will be keeping my "S" for little while though. "1299 SL" anyone ?:D

that's also y i like to get in early.....i don't wait half way thru for specific models....this way you get to enjoy the bike through the full model year timeline.....i buy once a full redesign happens like clockwork....this is jus midway like 1098 going to 1198 2 years in....im sure by 2016/17 there will be a whole new model which i am excited about now that vw group is in control.....in the end purchase and be satisfied with what you spend your money on....don't try n keep up with the jones......especially with an exotic brand

I hope they fix the "hot seat" LMFAO, or COOK MFAO
Have you seen the new 1 minute egg cooker ? It has. Panigale logo on it..

hoax or not, the idea is interesting...

where will take take the 100 CC ... the enigne is now already admitted to be the most extreme. With cilinder walls paper thin so cooling is a major issue running 15-20 °C degrees higher then what is considered 'good for the ponies'.

keeping it in the same dimensions will therefore be hard..

increasing the dimensions will have impact on the airbox when it needs more air as it was . so new tank as well ..and exhaust...

and to keep it clean and not too noisy...
impact on weight and weight distribution?

and my god, those electronics will be working overtime to keep those tires from spinning... :) LC and WC will be stock then ... they re are working on ABS under lean and throttle response under lean...

busineswise, this almost sounds like quit a development so expensive.. while the 1199 is just sort of getting sorted out

so : quit interesting indeed..

Like they didn't realise it was clearly visible in the background. Yeah right! Best US dealer perhaps, worst at observation clearly.

My money is on the more probable likelihood that this is a very well orchestrated "cock-up" in conjunction, consent and co-operation with Ducati, so the poor fickle public are duped into thinking it was all a genuine mistake. Sorry not buying it. Must try harder Bologna or give your customers more credit for being able to think for themselves. That or openly admit it was an genuine error, which of course the factory cannot do, as that would be tantamount to admitting the 1299 is a reality and damaging sales of existing/old 1199 stock. If in contrast, they deny it exists, then you would have to ask why would they get so worked up about it. Mind games all over again, just as we saw with the launch of the 1098 and the 1199 and the editing of this photo illustrates. Still, it's got us all talking about it, so maybe the factory has achieved what it set out to do by starting the hype engine again.

Topolino,
Really looking forward to when you start the 1299 build and webpage.

Actually I'm happy. Reasons being...... I will find 1199 parts cheap, maybe whole replacement engines for 2k...lol.

Everyone here is acting like their 1199s magically turned into 749s...lol. The 1199 is still awesome and will remain awesome. Hard to work at the upper echelon of racing, but no one here is doing that, well unless.... Chaz is that you?...lol.

You want to feel really good about your bike and bad about yourself go to a moto 3 race and watch a bunch of rubber necked kids half your laps times on 80bhp bikes...lol. Believe me the 1199S/R/SL is already a heavenly experience.

Going to the last WSBK race to watch Chaz make my bike look good...lol. 1299 nah don't need it.

Has nothing to do with NEED, do we need a 1200cc bike in the first place? prolly not, what Ducati is good at is they bring out products that makes people WANT them
that said, my next track bike will only have 375cc engine haha

My 1st track bike is whatever I can find for salvage with a straight frame. :D

Gotta please the momo's. All the BMW vs Ducati nonsense is getting old. One mag says Ducati is faster and there's an uproar, one mag says they like the power of the BMW better and there's an uproar.

It only matters to hardly any of us. I found the BMW bland, while I found the Ducati exciting. So I bought one. I knew full well, that despite the hype and awesome Superquadro engine, it's still just a Vtwin. If the engine is even close to the output of a 4 cylinder it's a huge win for us. To actually surpass many of the 4 cylinder bikes is something I didn't expect or believe.

The bikes are nothing alike. Ones a TT winning I4 german/jap sportbike powerhouse that's exactly the same feel as a 2005 ZX10R. There other is a small, lightweight, Italian masterpiece following in the lithe nature of the 916.

Progress moves on, but I'm not going to upgrade my engine to 1299 specs unless it nukes. Life is already a blur on the 1199.
