I'll admit...I'm an absolute sucker for the hype...I'll put money down!

(yes...pathetic....)

hoax or not, the idea is interesting...

where will take take the 100 CC ... the enigne is now already admitted to be the most extreme. With cilinder walls paper thin so cooling is a major issue running 15-20 °C degrees higher then what is considered 'good for the ponies'.

keeping it in the same dimensions will therefore be hard..

increasing the dimensions will have impact on the airbox when it needs more air as it was . so new tank as well ..and exhaust...

and to keep it clean and not too noisy...
impact on weight and weight distribution?

and my god, those electronics will be working overtime to keep those tires from spinning... :) LC and WC will be stock then ... they re are working on ABS under lean and throttle response under lean...

busineswise, this almost sounds like quit a development so expensive.. while the 1199 is just sort of getting sorted out

so : quit interesting indeed..

It's not as easy as some would believe, I would not be surprise if Ducati need to produce new cases for a 1299 ? Think Ducati has probably optimized con-rod length / Stroke ratio, with the tiny 60.8 mm this has limited the impact of the less than ideal 90 deg layout for a compact design, I have not done the math but my guess is you would require 5mm stroke increase it sounds small but their probably not be enough clearance on the lower piston skirt to flywheel and or piston skirt to piston skirt on BDC. Let's see what Ducati officially releases.

I think if Ducati has reached the pinnical of design with the 90 deg V twin then I hope they start looking at other V angles or maybe even my wild idea, a V3 like the old Honda RS500 2rear 1forward just an idea.

2 forward, 1 rear would be better with todays power IMO.

A setting that would only allow the throttle to be applied at a certain ramp when the bike is leaned over would be nice. No more jerkiness, no matter how much throttle you grab when leaned over. It would need at least 10 step adjustment of course. Even adjust one cylinder at a time. Step 0 off. Step 1 is less ramp on cyl1. Step two is less ramp on cyl 1 and 2, etc. etc.

Also I got my S at motor corsa Portland , an awesome dealer

Last year they still had new 12's for sale when no one else had any. There is a reason.

They would not be competitive on the white 13 S they had. Either would Sacramento at good times.

They stated me an OTD price on a tri color, and when I accepted they changed their minds.

I do this for a living, so I know all the games and caught them in everyone.

Christian was OK, it was his boss that was the ....... he tried negotiating with me for a month and would not meet my price.

I made one call to Sunnyvale Ducati and they said sure come on down, and they were honest and made it easy.

Looking at this from a Revenue standpoint, to post a picture like this by "accident" this late in the year is genius. No one is going to go buy a new bike from a dealership (primary market) when the snow starts to fall, and most anticipate market changes from Ducati and it's competition (H2, SKRR) by next year. So if they can sway any thoughts to buy a substitute product such as a next gen Ninja, or R1, into holding out for a newer Ducati Superbike, why not. Buzz marketing by "accident" doing its job!!

That's what I would do!

I got mine from MotoCorsa via Jason, (in that photo) when I picked mine up they had 2 other R's being collected the following week, they beat the over the ph price of Seattle & Bellevue by $500- both of those stated that they only had 1 and couldn't get another, they do sell a lot, though I think they could still improve in other areas.

I disagree on the market - I ordered mine in November 2011 (also a newly announced model) - knowing it would arrive just in time for the season! It was a bit late, came in May :(

1098, 1198, 1199, 1299, 1400cc?

This is already old I'm already on to the next thing.... 1400cc?? :)

Is it me or does it seem surprising that the 1199 would get a major overhaul so soon? Well, I guess next year it will have been out for 3 years. Seems like only yesterday I brought the Tri home...

not a major overhaul in my opinion

Agreed . It will be a new crank and rods using the 1199 cases etc .
This is something that will be able to be done to your existing motors IMO if you choose .
I am more interested to see any upgrades in the electronic based on the SL model .

Yeah that doesn't seem like much but some of the comments and speculation seems to elude to something more than that.

I am sure this bike will have on the fly tunable setting ala SL ...and wheelie control.... amongst some other things
