*tears in eyes*
That's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

*looking at my 2013 1199S in my garage in disgust*

Straight from Ducati

LED lighting
Another detail that gives the Panigale its total racing look is the twin headlamp at front designed to be an integral part of the front air scoops, with integrated LED positioning lights. The double LED lights at rear harmoniously wrap around the air vents in the seat-tail assembly and, when turned on, create an alluring effect of signalling lights enhanced by stop lights. LED technology is also been used for the front and rear turn indicators as well as the number plate light.

Ducati LED lighting

1299S only one with LED Headlights.

Full LED lighting
The 1299 Panigale S shows its technologically advanced nature with a bright, efficient, and stylish full-LED front headlight, along with LED brakelight, turn signals, and number plate light.

Also that 1st page is about the 1299 Panigale. The Panigale R is not a 1299!

2nd link is all about the 2014 R Model. The Pani R doesnt have elec susp. also they reference the S model coming dark stealth. thats the 1199s their referencing.

Well, I was contemplating between the S and R. Comparing the price differences, semi-active suspension and larger bore motor of the S, vs the non active suspension and smaller but 'built' R motor. With the price/tax differences and harder to find replacement parts of the R it was somewhat of a toss for me.

Now if the R lack full LED lights (some thing I've always wanted)..I'm leaning toward the S.

With the S at $25,000, add the full Akra exhaust for $3500-4000 and the carbon bits and taxes comes out to be $31,400 or about $5400 less than the R for a larger displacement motor, semi-active suspension, and full LED lighting.

I guess the S is a better street machine, the R being more exclusive and the 'only' think really special about the R is the motor.

I don't understand Ducati's logic. People who track/race the R are going to replace the fairings and remove lights anyway.

Exactly so why waste time, money and weight adding LED lights when they wont be used.

Also the Full AKRA for the 1299 is $5k and the other carbon bits to replicate the R is together is about 6k. The R is 33995. Really as much as you want to do to the S model your about 1k short of the R.

What about for those who have dedicated track bikes and WON'T be using the R for the track?

It is built to be a track bike first then streetbike. This is the homogolated version that is built up for WSBK and so on so they can race it. PaniR is a Race bike 1st then streetbike. If you want a streetbike (which I use loosely for a Pani) they have the Base Model and S 1299.
