I really wantEd to buy an R1M and actually had the keys to one almost thrown at me. However, several things dissuaded me. One I have a bit invested in my bike. Two, Ducati had a lot invested now, meaning they made improvements and fixed glitches. Third, im just starting to bond with the Panigale and I can't see myself getting any faster just for switching bikes.
Finally, the community of Panigale riders seems more prolific and the dealers more into riding than just sales numbers, something I've never found in jap bike shops. Also the R1 and the R1M are in their "first" year of evolution so I expect a couple more recalls and redesigns. 2016...hmmm...that's when we will start to see the "next" evolution of the Ducati superbike.
I'm very happy for you. If the motorcycle world was akin to playboy the R1M would be the centerfold this year. I will settle for the "older" Italian, definitely the Monica Belucci of the group 1199R.
