WOW it's a new bike. I was told by a sportbike guy and the crossplan is no joke. yamaha know what they have and if they want too they can make that bike have over 200+ hp. I had many r1 ones and if they keep the crossplane and up the hp very easy to do for them then yamaha is going to be the one to have. also 2007 and 2008 are not the fastest flash the 2009 and up and it will beat them. I know becouse i had mine checked my 2007 and my 2009 and the 2009 has more torque and hp after you flashed it. So guys if you dont know what you are talking about then look in to it. all i hear is yamaha is a pig and slow. Heavy yes slow no.i love all bikes but i will buy another r1 and still beat most of my friends. and yes i have beat the new 1199, my friend just cryed was like wow what did you do to that. i just laughed.

Riiiiiight... so nothing said above is really specific to Yamaha, and in fact could (and is often) said about every manufacturer. I'm not really sure what the point is, but if you mean "hey, tuning works!" well, then I think you'll find we'll all agree.

Owning a 13' ZX-10R, a 12' 1199S and a 04 'YZF- R1, I would say that the japs are easier to ride real fast. The Pani is harder to push real hard, it reminds me of a wild horse that you have to break in! But the 1199 is so much rewarding to ride, man its unbelievable. Its really something special!

My 10R is faster in straight line (trap speeds were higher) and at my skill level (Im no slouch but Im no Marquez either), Im faster around a track on the Kawi because its easier to push real hard, but it's really not as enjoyable to ride as the Pani! Ducati's new riders Chaz Davies (previously on BMW) and Davide Giuliano (previously on Aprilia) both mentionned in the WSBK offseason practice that the 1199 behaves differently than any other bikes and that it takes some time to sort out how to get the max out of the bike. If the bests in the world said so...

Now the R1s... In stock form, they suck real bad since 07! My 169 whp 04 R1 with bolts-on only litteraly Kills the latest gen of R1 its not even funny! Best R1 years are 04 to 06. They were light, bulletproof and fast! Where I live in, nobody talks about the R1s being so fast and almost everybody refers to superbikes as Ninjas!

I really hope that Yamaha comes up with something real special in 2015, they've been sleeping since 07'!!!

Most important is that you can stretch it...

You know... I've never seen a Ducati at a Starbucks... Or any motorcycle actually. Here in Philly nothing but scooters and bicycles...
