2016 Panigale R at Portimao

These are becoming a little mini series

Did a trip to Portimao last weekend and it's now up there with Aragon as my favourite track. The gradient changes are awesome and dont really show on the video. We had 50/50 sun and rain so it was my first track day on wets. I still can't believe how good they are. I was seeing 51 degrees of lean both sides in the rain and still felt like I had more grip available. The max I've seen in the dry is only 56 degrees.

I assume you turned DTC up to 7 for the wet only. At what level are you using it in the dry? (Could not see in the onboard...)

Are you changing suspension setup for the wet? (I know, stupid question: so do you have a base setting or base mod from dry to wet to start with?)

Yeah, I just turned it up for the rain although watching the vid it's not doing that much. In the dry it's at the default race setting of 1. In the wet it probably saved my ... when I got the false neutral and the back fish tailed though.

I didn't do much suspension wise other than lowering the compression a couple clicks because I wasn't braking so hard. It's the first time riding on the wets so I just wanted to get a feel for it. I didn't expect it to go so successfully to be honest, I thought the wets would just get me on track but they performed amazingly. It wasn't long ago I'd be happy with this performance in the dry!
