My old bike................:( It wasn't popular with the Ducatisti, but it was a great bike. I sold it to help with the down payment on the house. Now it's time for a little pay back ;)

I did not try to put a bike into living room, but made a stand for it into my garage. Here is my pretty mint condition 998s FE in my garage.

Maybe one day I'll take it down and ride a bit. Or my son does, he is six years now.

That is sweet. Guess what? I have the exact same jacket in my closet. No pants attached, but same jacket. I picked up from Pro Italia down in L.A. back in 2003. I think it was a Foggy jacket. It went great with my 999.

I love the 998. I wanted one, but they were a little pricy compared to a new 999 so I got the 999. The 916/996/998 design is definitely better. Pierre didn't quite get it right.

Panigale R is the wise choice for sure. It's incredible. But you already know what my vote is.

D16RR!!

Here's some more bike .... to help you with your decision! :D

I'm surprised that you didn't get the 1199 SL?

I put my Bimota Db2 and 996S up on my garage wall once.

The Desmo is still the sexiest.
I sat on one but refused to take it for a ride because I knew my life would have never been sane again.
Thanks for sharing yours.

I'm usually pretty good at rationalizing :D but I just couldn't justify the price. I ultimately chose the Desmo over the SL. Couldn't do both. The R I felt was a good compromise and a much better value for dare I say almost as much bike. ? It's also one I can ride the snot out of and never worry about mileage or scratches.

SL would be nice though!

Anytime! If you're ever in my neck of the woods you can ride mine. The more insane ducatistas out there the better!!

OK enough of these photos I have asked for the mods to ban you :)

While I said the Desmo was not the greatest bike to ride I'm now finding myself looking for one maybe I can chop the bayliss in against one.

I know right? The pics are so damn good they're offensive

At my stage in the game it's not just about pure speed. Who am I kidding? Like I could ever ride these bikes to their limit. It's more about the ownership experience and character of the bike. In that sense, the Desmo is doing it for me. It's a holiday up here in Canada today. I'm dying for my financier Courtney to get back to work so I can throw her my sales pitch.......We'll, basically beg for cash. I'm going to bring in the toy version and the stack of cash I've saved to show her I'm serious. She'll probably think I'm nuts.....

Edit - Hey KMY I called that guy in Alberta and left a message. Just like you, no response???....................................................weird. If you aren't going to return calls from people who clearly are serious about the purchase, why post it for sale??? I hate it when people waste my time....................

I had a black and red '93 Blade that was stolen here in Vancouver as well ! From very close to the corner of Cambie and Broadway while I was at work :( Way back in '97. Although the insurance money did allow me to buy a brand new, blue '98 R1, so it turned out ok.. :)

As it seems to have for you as well lochnessmonster! You seem to have made up your mind for the Desmo, which is great, gotta follow your heart, and it is a very cool bike.
I have to mention the SuperLeggera. It's the one I'd be buying in your situation.

I had two ZX-7's stolen as well. One while I was in class at SFU. I guess the guy did a bunch of wheelies and burn outs in one of the massive parking lots up there while the security guys chased him around before leaving. I'd love to have the footage from that. It was back in '94. The other ZX-7 was stolen in the driveway of another girlfriend of mine out in Coquitlam one night. They had me attend a storage facility and identify it when it was recovered. The gas tank had a massive dent in it right where your crotch would hit it. I guess that guy got into a high speed chase with the police that didn't end well. Haha....karma is a ...... I ended up using the insurance money from the CBR900RR to buy my first Ducati. A 900 SS/SP from Richmond Motorsports. I loved that bike.

Anyway, yeah, I am going to shoot for the Desmo. It just seems to speak to me right now more than the Panigale R. I've dreamt of owning one since back in 2007 when I had my 999. I'll see what the bank says. If they baulk on it, I'll have to save more cash and see what happens next spring. I'll keep you posted.
