My first post, please no flames.

The bike has 1000 miles and is completely stock (no modifications). It is currently at the dealer where they are trying to diagnose it.
On throttle with DQS Up+Down activated, it intermittently will not shift up into the higher gear. It happens mainly between 3rd and 4th, 4th to 5th, and 5th to 6th.
The symptoms are that when I'm on the throttle and attempt to firmly upshift with my foot, the RPMs will sometimes rev very high and the bike will not shift up. It surges quickly, but stays in the lower gear. Sometimes, when I attempt to firmly upshift, the shifter will not move (as if it is stuck or wants the clutch pulled in). Other times, the bike will surge (rev high), but will not shift up. Worse yet, sometimes when I attempt to upshift between 4th and 5th or 5th and 6th, it goes into phantom gear (neutral) then will go back into the lower gear without upshifting.

Has anyone else experienced this with 2016 or 2017 Panigale R? If so, what was the remedy? Thanks in advance.

Once you get rid of the stock DQS sensor and inatall a Translogic shift sensor all your problems will go away.

Hi Mick, thanks for the info.
I had suspected it is related to the DQS. Initially when I took it in to the dealer, the service rep told me there is a recall. He later recanted and said he was mistaken.

I'm still waiting for an update from the dealership. My summer track time is ticking away.

Over 1 full year later and Ducati NA still giving me NO advocacy to fix this. The shifter is still effed up. Appointment this coming week to have the shifter replaced. Unbelievable lack of service from Ducati NA.

Dealing with Ducati NA is a waste of time even if they gave you a new stock shift sensor it will fail again. Ditch it and drop a Translogic unit on there and all your problems will go away.

sometimes the Sensor action is mechanically rough.
you can check this by slowly pushing and pulling.
maybe the Shift force is too high or low. should be 7/8 kg.
you can check this with a simple suitcase scale. listen for the click of the micro switch.
this is simple as checking tire pressure.
measuring the resistance is only little more complicated.
if that's all ok, you have verified by yourself that it is or not sensor related.

Had mine fail last year, QS Down was intermittent at best. Previous owner had the extended warranty and was replaced by the dealer at n/c. If it goes again I will replace with the Translogic. I assume your bike is out of warranty coverage, if they are denying while covered then maybe get another dealer to fight for you. Sorry for the frustration, but for <$300 you will have a better connection and get the bike performing properly.
