Agreed, except the heat shield can't be removed with the subframe on as the exhaust covers the access to the screws. Different pipes/heat shield would remove the need to take off the subframe
 
I installed my full akra evo system (akra heatshield included) without having to remove anything except side fairings. Not a single thing else. I did invent some new cuss words in the process but that's another story.

How did you install the upmap?

Since Disco was referring to his 1199, i decided to reply.

Upmap install on the 1199 is easy and DIY.
 
No. Plug and play on the 1199's. It's under the seat cowl.

The 1299's were dealer installed upmaps.
 
This bike causes so many smiles. Wouldn’t want to own anything else

I'm still trying to figure out the upmap deal on the akra exhaust. There are you tube videos of the upmap stick just being plugged into an 1199 ...turn the bike on....BAM all easy peasy and done. The kra race exhaust has a picture of such an upmap stick but on the 1299 I keep hearing people say ducati needs to do it with their software and the stick won't do it. What's the point of the stick then?

I asked my tech and he said it is a plug-in to the "Ducati" software program. He said he has the program but has not done it on a 1299FE. He has done full exhaust installs, but his customers did not want the up map for racing....

Why install race exhaust but no upmap.

Maybe they are installing their own tune

asked the same question....he did not have direct contact with the customer as he was "in the back" and parts was in the front....LOL
 
Well she's here!

Need to change a the fluids since she's been sitting for 3 years so haven't been able to try her out yet. Then I guess the exhaust I will need to figure out. She looks gorgeous in person!
