Reading the manual, I am curious about how to adjust fork spring preload. The manual just says to have your dealer do it - anyone know if that is because the ESC has to be recalibrated or is there some other reason (other than having owner-tuners mucking up the suspension balance)?

I think it is just a safety thing for Ducati. You just have to unplug the electronic cables, the nut is the same as the front axle. Also I would suggest using a sandwich bag or something to keep from scaring the nut.
Have you tried changing the settings electronically?

I used the street mode suspension setting and adjusted performance mode to high. Also changed wheelie control to 1 it’s very sensitive even set at 3 the bike barely lifts under mid point. You can also go into suspension setting go out of dynamic mode and adjust the settings (custom)

What was the underseat heat like? I have a 1299s with similar modifications as yours. I don't find the heat unbearable, but mostly a curiosity question. Fantastic review that has really helped me with the question of getting this bike.

I did feel a bit of heat coming off it but nothing like the summer cook your nuts off that used to come from the 1199. Also felt cooler than the 1299.

Glad to hear this my 1199 in the Oz heat use to kill me. One of the reasons we parted ways.

What r the others?
living in Sydney, the 1hr fight to get out of the traffic in 35-40 degree days to where the bike was fun on twisties. Sucked the enjoyment out of it. My rides were either morning blasts or day long rides, the pani didn’t suit me for all day rides.

I replaced it with V4 Tuono - that I loved. Didn’t like the bug eye look, but everything else just set my soul on fire. I could ride that all day. Only reason I sold that was because I nearly lost my license on it. 3 years of driving miss daisy for me after that. Hence why I sold the Tuono and now the SF V4 seems to be my perfect bike to get back in the saddle

My dealer, who has my deposit, looks like he’s reneging on my delivery in April. I won’t bore members with the excuses given but, if he can’t get me one of the bikes currently unsold in the States and, with Ducati production now shut down, it doesn’t look promising. I’ve given him 5 extra days to locate me a SF 4S and then I will use my right to cancel to solicit the deposit refunded. If any members know of any US dealer with a bike please drop me a pm. If you know the dealer let them know that its a cash sale. If I haven’t found a bike by next Wednesday (04/22) I will buy a 2020 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR that I have already sourced. Sad. I really wanted the SF V4 S

I understood the Ducati factory was back working from 25th March?

@Diz I was supposed to get my bike in the shipment that arrived in the US 14 days ago. A ton of bikes arrived and were distributed to dealers around the country. I don’t think that production recommenced in Italy but, even if it has, the next shipment could be months away. Hence me asking members of the forum if they know any AD with bike for a quick cash sale and I will pay shipping out of state.

A lot of dealers didn’t get any bikes. Some only received a couple. The dealer I work with was expecting 25 and only received a few.

My dealer, one of the 2019 Ducati USA sales leaders, called me on April 6th of this month to say my bike is still a go. He did say that at the time of the call he had only received part of his order. The rest will follow this month. This global situation has only made the stress of things worse for all us. My deposit was not first and that sucks. I've decided if I want this bike, I might have to wait even longer. That sucks more! Hang in there everybody! Good things come to those who wait:)

@Duc-rider I have done some profound research about this before posting. Firstly, the only SF V4 in the United States are the S version. Those arrived on a shipment that left Italy just before the C19 outbreak and arrived in the US around 2 weeks ago. No standard SF V4 have ever arrived in the US (other than press bikes) and no other shipment is bound for the US at this time. Therefore, your " The rest will follow this month" would imply that more bikes are on the way, which is categorically untrue. One dealer has alluded to unsold bikes being brought in from neighboring countries but, that seems unlikely to me. You are right that the proposition is waiting for a quite a while longer, since production ceased, no bikes are on the water and, even if production recommenced, how long would they take to be manufactured, shipped and arrive in the US? As I have assumed, the only option is to obtain one of those cancelled orders from the bikes already here in the US, which is what I am trying to do between now and next week. If I am unsuccessful, I will then (reluctantly) buy another bike for 2020 and swing back around to the streetfighter for 2021.

If choose another bike, buy Ducati. You won't be disappointed!

I want a naked, it has to be high powered, my current bike has 180HP (BMW K1300R - Wasn't sold here in the US) but despite low miles, its getting dated and I need something new this year. Diavel doesn't appeal, the monster would be a step back in power, size and dynamics. The SF V4S was perfect. I will probably get a 2020 MV Agusta Brutale 1000RR to tide me over if my final search for the elusive SF V4S fails this week.

Pretty shocking but pleasant outcome. After talking to my dealer this morning and advising my intent to “go it alone” and requesting my deposit returned, he called me at 5pm to say that he found me a bike and I can collect it on Friday. Very exciting and unusual turn of events.

They are adding all the mods to my Street Fighter now.... Today the Akrpovic system and up map go on. The magnesium wheels and all the carbon fiber have been added already. The only carbon fiber part that hasn’t come in is the winglets.
