Probably because camp fuel (kerosine) is a different animal than gasoline. Leave a gasoline can in the sun and it will build a bunch of pressure, kerosine won't. They say nothing on that site that that container is approved for gasoline. Yikes.
Unless it was a properly kitted offroad adventure bike or I was riding to Dakar, I wouldn't carry fuel containers.
And yes the range sucks. I'm hoping it gets a bit better as the engine breaks in.
