I have to say I prefer the Panigale for looks. 1st time in a lot of years the GP bike is less of a looker than the SBK IMHO.
I'll have to see it again tomorrow and see if I change my mind. It's in the more masculine boxy shaped design direction that's not doing it for me. Maybe it'll grow on me. My favorite GP bike was the D16 of the Stoner era and a few after that. That was one of the most beautiful bikes ever designed IMO. An acquaintance had one in SF back when they released. Damn what a sound.
Any way the 2021 GP bike ~ oh - the red stripe on the wheel is pretty cool though.
Check the saddle / cockpit. Different. Very minimal top view. I don't want to say it but a little German flavor going on here. It's not bad, just a departure from past style trajectories.
It's getting interesting in parts...
This is serious. This is really cool. I've been waiting for this level of man+machine ergonomics for ages. Check the curves on the side of the tank tangential to the pilot's legs.
Really interesting. Crazy air vent patterns.
Same deal.
Looks like a chair on a rocket hahaa The 3 mixed materials on the complex curves of the forward saddle are really cool.
2 into 1 right side exhaust ? Ya there's an upper and a lower 2 into 1.
There's a lot going on here. Guys, edit. I can't pretend to understand the liquid dynamic factors of the down-force wing-things but omg, can we get one geometry and stick with it?
Checkers. Someone in charge of graphics was like, "hmm there's a space here that's not sponsor real estate, red? Na, checkers. Ya checkers."
It's definitely growing on me. It's a pretty nice bike that they maybe haven't quite figured out how to do the wings integrated into the rest of the design themes IMHO.
There are some interesting changes in types of geometry. It's something Apple started doing a couple years ago. Photos are one thing. In person would be interesting.
