And all this nanny bs is brought to you by the same people who sold 1198's with no electronics other than the ECU. The 1198 S had DTC which was fondly named the widow maker. Throttle turns both ways.

Since being owned by the Germans they seemed to have turned a corner. The 1198 was fourteen years ago? I jumped in the pool with the 1199.

I actually think it was Claudio. What I love about this guy is he was the chief frame/chassis guy before they started making him project leader and then president. What's he do, he channels Phillip Vincent and tosses the trellis away. A genuine enthusiast runs Ducati. Not a hired suit. I considered the SF/Panigale V4's as an absolute engineering tour of force. Best Ducati design IMHO since the original 916. Both are easy to service (all things are relative) and the designs are transformative.

The “turning point” was/is much tighter emissions control of motorcycles. The Ducati CAN bus is a network of separate ECUs, engine, bbs, dash, etc., using the same technologies that other road vehicles have been using for more than a decade now. The Euro4/5 specs require a much more precise control of the engine and supporting systems, so that technology is required now. The great result is that we now get access to this latest technology in daily driven street vehicles.

Although we(?) bitch about emissions requirements, they have resulted in the greatest advancements in mainstream engine controls and resulting power improvements. Think carburetors, ignition, cam timing, wide and O2 sensors, etc.

Most of these things were not new inventions, just their maturation into mass markets.

I met Claudio riding through Florence. He and his wife road up next to me and my wife on my Panigale. They were on a DesertX and had just crossed the Apennines mountains riding from Bologna. He just offered his number, just like that while chatting. We text now and then. Next time I saw him he blew past me on the inside at Misano when I was behind a DRE instructor. I had a knee down in Curvone the fastest curve and was closing on the apex with a meter gap. We almost touched elbows, his right one was in the grass for sure.
Polite wave.
I see 0-something on his back. Honestly my thought was "....... Dov? who was that?"
I roll into the paddock and there he is. Turns around and has a huge smile, "Ah that was YOU!" he says. I explained I saw 0-something and wondered.
He told me, "Ah yes, 00 goes before all the other numbers," and just smiles. 😆🤣
The real honest to goodness deal that one. Faith in product right there.

Ok. Why do you disable DTC? In a straight line is has no effect. Maybe it is hard to pass 300 depdending on ambient conditions. A 10 km/h head wind will make you 10km/h slower in the end.

Please do not keep claiming that the stock Ducati Panigale V4 is limited in top speed because that is simply not true. At least not for all EU and USA calibrations that I have seen. Maybe in some other country it is but I would put it under the category "fake news".....

23 v4 .it homicidal bike. I had 10 bike ss mostly bmw s1000rr zx 10 r r1 gsxr 1000r. One of the reson I got ducati v4 is that in stock form it faster then most if not all Supersport. I when flash and tune u can bet I race H 2 ppl think h2 not h2 r is fast but not faster then ducati panigale v4 23 cuz power nothing without control plus it very heavy bike h2 compared to light and torque monster ducati panigale. Top speed even in stock v4 at 6 gear 15k rmp I did 195 miles and still had more to bad run out road .it homicidal bike best not only looks but preforming. Top of the line I bought my cash even for base v4 32k us dollars if u finance 42k and that for base .not many ppl can afford 6k Akrapovic.

i don’t think you were holding the throttle pinned and steady in that one judging by the way the RPM indicator was moving.

This thread and your responses are just strange…abnormal.

Why would anyone come on here and insist that because their personal bike wouldn’t do 300kph without specific mods that NO ONES bike will do it without specific mods?

Are you trying to make the case for buying said mods to idiots that don’t know any better?

That’s the only way your responses in this thread makes sense lol

I wish I could off cache u in jail when I was there and let booty bandit handle u .they would love your fast moving mouth 😜

I’m thinking there is something wrong with chrisssss’ bike, or he is so wide(?) and tall(?) that the bike is literally aero drag-limited? Maybe the fluctuating tachometer is an electrical problem? Fuel flow? Something(?) is definitely wrong.

My 2021 PV4SP will easily hit the max rev limiter in 6th gear. The peak revs red light is flashes telling me so. The speedo is worthless past 300kph/186mph though. It only shows ———. This is with the full system Akra/Ducati tune installed by my dealer…. I’ve yet to cross-check peak speed with gps, but there is no rev limit “hit” unless the red light is on/flashing.
