I'm having an issue with my Ducati Panigale V4, which is set up exclusively for track use (race plastics, stock exhaust, rear light eliminator, keyless start, and inverted gear lever with the first gear up and the rest down).
Last weekend, I participated in a track day, and although it was raining most of the time, everything seemed fine. However, the next morning (Sunday), when I started the bike cold, a DTC error appeared on the dash. I scanned it with a diagnostic tool, and it showed a P0112 error, indicating a temperature sensor fault. I didn't return home until the next evening, and after replacing the temperature sensor, I tried to start the bike again, only to find the battery was completely dead. The voltage read only 9.5V. I charged the battery overnight, replaced the temperature sensor, and tried to start the engine again, but the problem persisted.
Later that day, I took the bike to the dealer. To my surprise, when they connected the diagnostics, the fault was no longer active. They erased the old errors and warmed up the bike just in case, but the error didn’t resurface.
Today, I went to another track day. After riding for 8-10 minutes, I returned to the pit, and when I slowed down, the same error popped up again. I'm taking the bike back to the dealer tomorrow and hoping the error will still be active. I also swapped the sensor with one from a friend’s bike, where it works perfectly, so I'm curious if they’ll find anything.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Any suggestions on what to check? Could this be related to a battery problem? After the error appeared today, I checked the battery, and it was reading around 13.1V, so it seems fine. I’ve also noticed that the red light on the dash flashes quite frequently (every 3 seconds) when the bike is off—maybe this drained the battery last weekend?
The bike doesn’t have a warranty since I bought it after an accident.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
