Very true. But they came back and compensated me for my time away from the bike, although I can’t talk about specifics. I’m riding tomorrow morning at Angeles Crest Highway tomorrow with an unlocked V4S. Who is coming with?

Pics from Wednesday at Express Tint and Wrap in Hollywood. Amazing how some color and simple decals can transform the look of a bike.
Hi.
What is an Unlocked V4S? God I miss the Crest and those roads back in there.

The V4's are sort of muted as delivered particularly the US versions. You can remap these and make them as vicious as you think is prudent. Ducati is doing a lot of throttle opening manipulation in the mapping to soften the response so they're easier to ride.

OK thanks. So does one go to the dealership and ask for a race map? What's the process or exact ask? Same OEM exhaust?
Since I bought mine used I loaded what I wanted. You need to figure out what doesn't void the warranty which is probably only the stuff Ducati supplies. This is all based on is the stock full power race mode too dull? Pretty zippy totally stock. Lots of discussion on the forum about remapping and warranty preservation.

Thanks. I just hadn't heard that term before. It's a good summarization/slang word. So, in general, a pipe and map, or is there something else figured in to this newest uber-cool word?

Maybe Panibadboy will read this. Nope nothing more. The Ducati maps will never be as liberal as the aftermarket. I have mine mapped like a cable throttle which undoes Ducati's throttle management stuff. Just rips and really fun to ride but ultimately you'd be faster on a track with some sort of the torque management.

So, I was able to finally ride the bike yesterday before all the rain at Angeles Crest. See the video. I have all the settings of the suspension in default, and was using sport mode. There was a whole lot of seemingly excessive dust on the right front caliper. I don't know if anyone else has seen that. A buddy thinks it's the 'organic' brake pads that come stock, since they heat up quickly. But I am not sure about that explanation. Overall, I am still trying to figure out shift points and braking and the massive amount of adjustably the bike has, but it is fun and hopefully doesn't break again any time soon.
