23-24 V4R exhaust question

I’m curious about the exhaust fitment for the new V4R. Ducati website only shows high mount Akra, is it due to map being available only for that exhaust? If I wanted to fit the underbelly Akra or Termi D182, D200 and I did a custom tune, is it possible?

Yes, it will physically bolt on a fit as it should. But, I'd consult with whatever tuner you choose to gauge their knowledge with the platform. Most tuners are building tunes off of the Ducati/Akrapovic maps anyway. I doubt there's some super secret special sauce baked into the under tail systems. It's likely more about noise compliance or fleecing customers.

I doubt anyone outside of Ducati could answer for why the belly exhausts aren't available in the configurator.

its available for the non R bikes but you want it for your R..

yes but these systems do not have bungs for each cylinder only 2. That is why they say it doesn't work

simple. just fit and weld some bungs.

Or as with most tunes the o2 sensors are redundant anyway and should be junked along with the canister and the AIS stuff.

There's more than 2 on the high exit Akra that I've got on my new R?

keep up luv.......

the later v4's have 4 x o2

the earlier x2

so if you put an earlier....(cheaper in price) system on to a later bike you either need to weld some bungs on ( and ideally the proper sizenot the pokey little things),
or
get a tune that eliminates such rubbish.

@andyb

I had another look and I'm pretty sure that I saw 4 of them on the low-exit Akra that I have on my SP2, which should surely mean that it would work on the R. People are saying the low-exit does not work on the R because it only has 2, yet...

So my point was that the low-exit should work fine on the R (it has 4 sensors) but it's not listed as an accessory for the R.

we got there in the end.

anything can fit anything if you have the whereabouts and acumen to make it work. If you don't then research the internet and let your pants be pulled down!

oh if I had a new 24 V4R I would probably go down the factory fitted option and their tune.......warranty n all that.

pants GIF

So we came to the conclusion that the low Akra for the 22+ PV4 should fit the R without anyone actually fitting one? So just speculation and common sense and no practical experience.

Are the locations of the O2 sensors the same on the low vs high Akra? Maybe it’s a harness issue. I’d assume not though

Also just a heads up term has a new v4r race exhaust

My 2020 Akra was from an earlier part number and fitted
My 22 base has a full Akra I got cheap that was from an earlier model I welded the proper size bungs into it although I don’t use them
I also turned it into a high system better than the std wide crap 48mm pipe, into a 60mm full titanium with removable Akra silencers and db killers if required most importantly into the look of the WSB

So WE didn’t do anything because you don’t understand whereas I do! Try not to judge people down to the level of your incompetence!
