A thread is not a thread unless it's properly jacked/derailed
i thought this was bike forum.
It's great Yamaha is finally revising their R1, long overdue. I had an R6 before, 33k miles and zero problem, all i needed was oil and tires, Yamaha make great bikes. Not a fan of the R1's bulkiness, but people who rode the bike loves the engine, the crossplane + big bang firing order is addicting. The JapBig4 keep the Italians in check, force Ducati to keep pushing the envelop and make sure premium they charge isn't always on looks alone. I like it.
Allow me to channel this otherwise awesome forum's collective .........gery into one post...
Most of you folks own $25-$30K MOTORCYCLES. What on earth are you doing driving (or must less arguing about) sub-150K sports cars? Well I can see it if you owned the car before the bike, but still?
Cars bore the ever-living .... out of me now, except for certain Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and to a much lesser extent Porsches. Oh, I'm sure that last part will start a shitstorm. Anyway, if you have one of THOSE cars I'd love to hear about how much THAT kicks ... (seriously, please). Otherwise please keep talking about bikes instead.
Being from Germany I really enjoyed the video. Since you didn't break any local laws in your video, mind telling me where that was
Yes, I was surprised about the lack of traffic.
Riding your beast on home turf.....priceless
I asked you what criteria you were using to compare the RS5 to the M3. If you're just comparing raw performance numbers that's great, but the vast majority of buyers do not care about that. It's the subjective things that are behind why most buyers are purchasing one over the other. That said, in the 2013 C&D Lightning Lap test the RS5 had a quicker time than both the M6 and M5 (I'm not sure why the M3 wasn't included) and both those cars have posted quicker laps than the M3.

Top Gear proves it? Lol... an entertainment show is where you get your facts? I wasn't really comparing the R8 to the M3. You said BMW is "smashing" Audi and I was pointing out that isn't really the case as Audi has cars that provide a driving experience BMW isn't touching yet. Hell, even the RS7 vs M6 Gran Coupe.

Top Gear: BMW M3 Competition Package vs. Audi RS5
sorry audi sucks well let me re state sorry you have to buy an r8 v10 to get a good car by audi.
if you dont want to watch here is the outcome spoiler alert
The BMW M3 Coupe is still king and at about a second faster than the RS5, it remains the first choice among enthusiasts looking for the ultimate thrill which can still be found in the "¦.Ultimate Driving Machine.
You own a M3 Coupe? Thinking about getting the M4?
while we are at it, if you take away the HP comparison between RS5 and M3, i would throw in the Cayman S in the mix, talk about fun factor, that baby is through the roof.
