848 verses 1199 riding comfort

I found the pani with the stock seat very tough to grip the tank with my legs, which made it tough to keep weight off my wrists. Add the racing seat and grip pads on the tank (tech spec) and it has made a huge difference.

Thank you for the input. Waiting for mother nature to calm down to ride the 848, change riding style, I have been riding a r1200rt for the past few years, huge difference! My track day bike is a RS125, possibly the most fun bike on the track I have ridden, riding position is cramped but who cares, just hold her wide open and point, yaaahhhoooo.

If you're riding posture is correct, your wrists shouldn't hurt, regardless of bike. No weight should be on your hands.

+1

Every sport bike needs some sort of 'Stomp grip' on the tank so you can use your legs and core muscles so support your upper body and get connected to the bike correctly. Otherwise you ain't riding right! You just can't turn a bike easily with all that weight on your wrists.

I had an 848 and have an 1199 now.
I find the 1199 to be more comfortable but having said that I didn't think the 848 was uncomfortable at all.
My wrists never hurt because I don't put my weight on them.
I would take either of these bikes on a long trip no problem.
The only thing that would stop me is just no way to really carry my things.
Besides thats what my Multistrada is for :)
