899 engine noise help ? Pictures loaded

Hello. Yesterday I took my bike for a ride , I was in second gear cracked the throttle and it died . I pulled over and it started up again however noticed a knocking noise like its not getting oil in the heads .

My oil light is on , I have correct oil level I did check.

I will pull the oil plug tonight and filter to check flr metal shavings , I don't know if the oil pump failed or maybe something is plugged .

Anyone have any tips
Or suggestions I can look at before I spend a a lot of cash at the dealer ?

I'd see a dealer immediately...

I dropped the oil and this is what I found

Looks like gold metal shavings , not sure where on the motor I Cooked However I am guessing bottom end .

I have a theory to what happened , I replace my side cover gasket due to a leak , I think I used to much Black sealant I found small balls in the oil .

I Would assume the oil pump failed which cause the noise due to no oil flow.

A very costly mistake .

I have a new motor on the way.

Unfortunately I believe this is what just happened to me as well. How much does this mistake cost?

@alvarop can you tell me about how you went about replacing and how much did it cost? Was it just the motor and did you order a new one or on eBay or?
