Hi all,
So, I've got quite a few track days under my belt and have been bumped to "red" Novice and have done pretty well in that group. I would like to try and run in CCS, do a couple of the last races of the season this year and run a full season next year.

My question is, NO ONE in my region seems to be running an 899 or a 959. At least not according to the race results posted.

Can someone guide me on what group I'd be running with?

Not sure about CCS but WERA has a rule book outlying displacement, classes etc... Look for that with CCS

Thanks guys. So it looks like I can only run in the "Heavyweight Superbike". I feel like I'll get murdered by all the liter bikes.

But hey,... maybe I'll have to get some seat time and experience on the 899, then get the "beast" running over the winter and run the 1199 next season.

Thanks again.

Do they have Open Superstock? You should be able to run there too

SuperTwins also and Heavyweight GT. I wouldn't worry about it at all, in the Amateur races it's 95% rider and 5% bike. We used to race SV650's in SuperTwins and one of our guys won the regional CCS Championship against much faster bikes.

Good point... my buddy ran 1:38s on an SV650 at Mid-O vintage days, while some panigales only ran 1:39-40s...

We are lucky that we have 2 groups based on Lap times (600 & 1000 combine)

I didnt have the legs on our main straight, but rest of track there was no difference. I concentrated on my own lap times rather than $2 trophies.
When I swapped to 1199 for a brief time I still miss the joy of passing bigger bikes on the 899.

Not true I have a good friend that rides a 899 in CCS and she is killing guys on liter bikes and big twins. What the 899 may lack in straight line speed it really makes up for in handling. Much depends on skill of course.

Awesome! Out of curiosity, is she running the the Heavyweight Superbike?
