I bought this 2017 959 off of a friend who had dropped it with what we had believed was cosmetic damage(one crack in front head panel and one down near the right pan. Broken rear bleeder and master cylinder pin) I took it out for the first time after fixing the mechanical things and noticed the bike won’t go passed fourth gear. I’m sweating bullets trying to find out what might be wrong and what it’s going to cost me..... any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

IT is most likely your mechanical gear shift pin - i know bad name for it, but if it was replaced the amount that it is turned into and out of the hook will make a major impact. I only know this because i have put rear sets on my track bikes and it takes adjustments sometimes

put in on a stand and slowly take it through the gears turning the rear wheel by hand- report back

It is a very weird situation. When I try to use the quick shifter the engine disengages and sometimes will shift to 5th. But it will red line then switch back to 4th. Not sure if this gives you any thoughts.

If it is slipping out of gear and redlining the engine i would take it to the dealer and ask them why is my bike trying to kill me
