That's why you gotta get that third pedal, flynbulldog :)

you got that F'n right! - I wish I'd known how bad the paddle shift trans was that everybody said was the .....
a $60,000 mistake  and I knew better.

Ouch, I know you won't make that mistake next time. The nanny state continues and now I believe there is a law that if you hit the breaks the throttle has to be disconnected! The number of available cars and bikes that allow that "purity" of driver connection is pretty much gone. Don't get me started on that!

Its off topic but I installed a Burger Tuning plug and play tuner to my 335i coupe and it works way better. More power and better throttle response. I also bought the Bavarian Technician tool which allows you to reset codes, service reminders, etc.

JB4 PNP (N54 Stage 3) BMW Performance Tuner - Add 100+ HP | JB3 | JB4 | BMW Chip | Juice Box | E90 Tuning | JuiceBox | 335i Performance

Bavarian Technic BMW & Mini Cooper Software Diagnostic Tools

I'm not talking about throttle response. I'm talking about the computer's reaction, computation, and algorithm that responds to my input to open the throttle.

I tried both the JB3 and the Proceed on my car when it was new and both caused other problems and had no effect on the throttle program issue.

Power increase was negligible.

My wife loves the car so she can have it. I'll get myself something else in another year or two.

Now, lets get back to the 1199 :)

I heard something new about the fly by wire. At least I hav'nt heard anything about this before. The throttle bodies will work independently of each other. You've all probably all read about how the EBC will slightly crack open the butterfly to keep the rear wheel from locking during downshifts. What I did'nt know is that it will only open the butterfly on the rear cylinder , not both. This way it'll add just enough " power " to keep the wheel from locking , but not speed the bike up while you are say , going into a corner or something. All the tech in this bike is really pretty awesome !

tech can be pretty awesome or it can be an interference, it all depends on how smart the guys that designed it think they are compared to how smart they really are.
So far, the Germans think they are smarter than the rest of us, they want to take the control out of our hands.

Lets hope the Italians know enough to allow us to control our own bikes while still making the tech do it's job.

I have TBW on my Multi and I really like the way it works. To me that's a good sign for the 1199.
