Was the light coming on before you started pulling stuff apart? Send me a picture of the dash so I can see what its doing.
Its 50 deg here so riding is out. I prefer sport mode and set abs to 2 and go off for a ride and lights are out. Within 10 miles or so at variable speeds the abs light on the upper right goes on the abs setting light on the lower right that read #2 as I started now reads ... ( 3 dots) and the lower left that read sport mode now blinks. My dealer recently reset my 600 mile service light and read for codes told me that it could be the front speed sensor. I added a BST front wheel and Ohlin forks that I took off my prior 959 to this bike. I thought the air gap and or sensor wire could be the issue. I swapped the sensor wire from my 959 which is a known working part rechecked all connections and tried to make sense out of the air gap spec from the manual. The spec reads 1.3mm to 1.9mm and the says other numbers towards the bottom note where I underlined I'll post below , I'm very curious as to what your front or rear air gap is? I attached the 959 below all those parts are now on the 1299
Adjusting the AIR-GAP of phonic wheel sensor
(For front as well as rear sensor) In each case of maintenance that foresees:
- replacing or refitting the wheel;
- replacing or refitting phonic wheel (5) or (6);
- replacing or refitting the brake discs;
- replacing or refitting the speed sensor (1) or (2);
- (front) replacing or refitting the sensor holder bracket;
- (rear) replacing or refitting of the calliper holder plate.
It is necessary to check the air-gap between the speed sensor and the phonic wheel, once the components are
refitted.
There must be a gap between ABS sensor (D) and phonic wheel (E) of 1.3 mm to 1.9 mm. To check it, use two
feeler gauges (F)
of 1.3 mm and 1.9 mm. If the Airgap is correct, the 1.3 mm feeler gauge must not pass.
Note
Perform the test in three points of the phonic wheel, at a distance of 120° one from the other.
To do this, use two feeler gauges (8) of 0.2 mm and 0.5 m.
Important
The sum of the feeler gauge must never exceed 3 mm.
