Hey guys. Just bought my first ever Ducati 2012 Panigale 1199S. It failed out of province inspection today in Alberta due to ABS not working or just ABS lights not coming on at all.

Any suggestions?

Yeah just remove all the ABS lines from the masters, install direct lines to the calipers and plug the 4 ABS pump ports then never look back.
Umm, thanks but I did not really understand what you said lol. My first ever ducati and I haven't worked too much on bikes myself other than very basic work.

Lets simplify it so you will be better off without the ABS so bypass it all using my instructions above.
But if ABS doesn't work then my out of province inspection will fail. The inspector said if it has ABS which he can see it does, it needs to be working in order to pass the out of province inspection.

Need to know more. What do you see? Does the light come on and then turn off over 5km/h (normal), or is it not coming on at all or staying on when over 5km/h?

ABS light does not come on at all! Like, I haven't even seen it on the dash don't know know where it pops up. Based on my research so far, seems like abs is not even hooked up or not getting power at all. I read manual. Seems like there is positive and negative terminal wires for abs needs to be hooked up to battery. When i disconnected the battery and connected back again, i didn't see abs wires. Now i am gona reach the battery again and hopefully i can find or dig out abs terminal wires. Don't remember seeing any wires hanging around when i reached battery last.

Your not gonna find any random wires for the ABS pump. If the pump died your dash would light up like a Christmas tree and the bike wouldn't even start. The ABS electronics are all part of the CAN line circuit. Snap a pic of the dash be little easier to see what's going on.

See the pictures attached. No ABS light pops up at all at any given point.

Looking at your dash, it's not an ABS version. There would be an ABS tab under the gear position on the dash. As it's not there I doubt you even have it.

I just saw the pics so I am not seeing a ABS tab either its always last tab on far right. I know the 2012 base 1199 has no ABS so now that I think about it S model should not either. 2013 is when ABS started popping up. Pull right side fairing that will tell it all if there is no ABS pump or additional lines your bike has no ABS.

Well the inspector failed it due to abs not working. He said it has ABS so it should be working.

Your inspector does not know what he is looking for. I just double checked your bike does not have ABS.
Apparently my bike does have ABS. I just asked the guy i bought it from. He said it certainly does have ABS.

Please see the picture. Mechanic and previous owner both says it has ABS. That slotted ring is for ABS right?

Good god. Is there one of these hanging off the clutch side of the motor with a bunch of brake lines coming off of it? 2 pages of nonsense.
